Up close with new Boxer vehicle variant armed with Brimstone missiles

The latest Boxer vehicle variant, equipped with Brimstone precision-guided missiles, has been unveiled.
The British Army is set to buy 623 Boxers and the new Overwatch variant is fitted with eight of the missiles - able to hit enemy armour up to 12 miles away.

Finally actually getting where we need to be with vehicle procurement . A modular , mobile and most importantly multi role vehicle that's not too expensive . We need hundreds of boxers with different roles , it will make logistical repairs and maintenance an absolute cake walk if every version is made from the same chassis . Being able to fit various weapon systems quickly is also huge , Brimstone for anti tank , 30mm's for front line fighting , command and control variants , motars as shown here . This is such a flexible platform we need to start turning away from lots of different vehicles for different roles . All these modern vehicles should be data link capable too making situational awareness fantastic between AH64E and supporting assets all communicating to enhance our force projection despite the relatively small number of troops we actually have .

Ukraine just signed a deal on using the Boxer Platfrom ... but attached with the turret of the Panzerhaubitze 2000. This is called RCH 155. It does looks a bit odd as the turret /gun are looking a bit too huge on the boxer. But it comes with 3 giants bonuses. A: First big howitzer that can shoot while driving. C: Fully automatic charging. B: It is fully remote capable ... meaning you can steer&fire this beast from your couch. Dear Santa!

@@rushco the Rch155 turret is by far not as heavy and large as the Pzh2000 turret, and it also hasnt the autoloader/magazin in the vehicle base like the Pzh2000 ... a completely different design, lighter, smaller magazine and less armored. Pretty much just the gun and some of the firecontrol system is the same. Still at the edge of whats possible on a wheeled basis, but thankfully the Boxer was developed with quiet a large margin for future upgrades. Alltho the designers probably had more armor and IFV turrets in mind rather then thinking about heavy artillery as they gave the Boxer huge amounts of power, offroad capability and stability.

Lets hope many more nations bring their ingenuity to the table. The Boxer is already the heart of several countries armies. And with every country more producing the Boxer the supply chain gets hardened even more. If two more major countries jump on it the supply chain for this vehicle will be indestructible even in a nuclear war! And the possibilities for this plattform are infinite! There are options with a 120 mm cannon on it, there are options with a fully automated 155mm artillery gun on it, there is a tracked version of it, there is a 35mm airburst AA gun turret for it available! I am a German and i know the importance of this vehicle. So i am happy about every production facility that is set up in another country, because Germany is too small, Great Britain on its own would be too small but many more European Nations and even Australia are enough to create an unbreakable chain of supply to make this the backbone of any army. And with more options like the what i now call, the "Brimstone-Werfer", the plattform becomes even more deadly and more important!

What's left of the attacking mechanized infantry will be mopped up by these very Boxers as well. They can also leave the targeted area of artillery faster than tanks can manouver.. of course, depends on the terrain they are maneuvering,

It would also be safer for close by supporting troops and act as an audible alarm to hit the deck before the Trophy backs up the mini AA and frags friendlies in the process of defending the armor and maybe even intercept smaller mortars too creating an umbrella for supporting troops. Autonomous interlinked system shared by the patrol. You could have 3 layers, there is blast screen style APS too. Mini Phalanx, Trophy, Blast screen, Armor.

Putting mortars and just an 8 round brim launcher on a 40T platform is an absolute joke. Those things could be done by Supacat and the boxer used for the heavy stuff like 155mm auto howitzer, Skyranger and large cannons etc. How much will any of this come to fruition with MODs track record of F’ ups.
