Unwrapping Treasures From The Stone Age
I was recently gifted a box of Stone Age artefacts , I couldn't possibly unwrap these on my own so I enlisted the help of my good friend Jon Adkin who is a fountain of information when it comes to these things .
I hope you enjoy this box of treasures as much as we did.

An amazing gift. Thanks for sharing it with us.
Think you'll be the perfect custodian for now and what better use than to learn from them? They could go back to Cyprus, but their age is a reminder that we tend to think about things in terms of one or two generations. Perhaps they will go back to Cyprus one day, but it could be in one, two, three hundred years from now. A drop in the ocean of time for those objects. What a journey they've had and will have in the future.
Best box opening I've ever seen! Watching you guys reactions and hearing the expert narrative was so very enjoyable and educating! Thank you Will, for including all of us!

It was proper exciting to open that box buddy 😂
I love this channel so damn much so glad I found you a year or two ago amazing I personally live in Indiana an have a decent size collection an also make stone tools an Cherokee bows hell I would rather live back then then now so much of a simpler life
Thanku Will! and thanku to the generous man who donated the items. i'm glad they found a good home 🙏🙏🙏
Amazing. To think of the time and patience that went into shaping stones thousands of years ago to make such useful tools. Tools that would actually still be useful, as I glance at the kitchen mortar and pestle. To pick up and hold in your hand a tool that some one used in daily life millennia ago. Thank you for this very interesting and educational channel!
Hello. All this tools are amazing. One day , you shall jump on your tryke, and come here in Perigord. I will show you some famous places for founding flint and others tool. There is always some nice surprises.
Very interesting! I am lucky enough to live in an area of western Kentucky where Native American artifacts are found on a regular basis.
Wow, I love this channel I stumbled on to. I don't care for the internet and the other damn channels out there. You Tube is the only thing I watch and I am happy to have found this channel. I feel at home or like I am watching friends from a long time ago. Love everything I am seeing on this channel. Cheers!
You carry yourself well, dedication not to be questioned, very realistic and interesting focus points, I sense honesty about you; every reason to want to hang out with you to learn or for company. Thank you for sharing, Will and John.
Like Christmas! A wonderful gift to the right person! I find things that take a long time to even guess what they are. Definitely helps to have a knowledgeable friend to reveal the various items. I'm just a amateur but my finds are quite variable and interesting. I've learned a considerable amount watching your videos Thanks so much for sharing!
I love the value of that grinding stone. Imagining how much meal, food, mouths, people that have been fed by all those hands handeling it....😗🤔
Thanks for sharing the excitement and wonder 👍 Beautiful and inspiring objects. Thanks too to Jon for sharing the knowledge.
Hi Will😊 happy new year to all there, thanks for letting us join you in this great unboxing of precious artifacts.your friend is very knowledgeable and I could tell by the way you both handled the items that they meant something special to you both. I couldn't think of a better custodian of these tools than you, and to have them in the lodge for other people to hold and appreciate them is a fitting tribute to the makers of long ago. Cheers guys, I hope this year will be a good one for you, stay safe mate, best wishe's, Stuart Uk.

Thanks Stuart
Excellent. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you amazing...... how fasicated, and skilled are ancestors were.
Will, you remind me that I have high technological stones made by Aboriginal ancestors here in Australia that have come to me from different regions for safe keeping. I am Aboriginal and instead of being dispersed I honour them by ensuring they are safe. As promised, I will send you data, and images of these pieces. I am amazed at how similar stones were engineered into similar tools on opposite sides of the world.
it;s too bad that there are so many wonderful pieces that are just sitting in boxes and drawers that never see the light and have the opportunity to be appreciated for the amazing work our ancestors created glad these pieces will have opportunity to get the appreciation and respect they deserve

Absolutely amazing every bit
I was in Cyprus in the 70’s for 3 years and many visits to the beautiful Island since then. I wonder where those items were found and whether it was legal to fetch them home? Great to see them now. Thanks.
Amazing unboxing thanks for sharing.
Thank you so much for sharing this with us.

I didn’t get it anyway lol 😂
great video i would love to see some of your other artifacts
I wonder what the story was behind the axe that was damaged only to be repurposed into a pestle. I imagine an angry man and an industrious woman being behind it, perhaps. I suppose each one of these artefacts has a unique story behind it... Lost forever, sadly... And the same will be true of us soon...

Planned obsolescence of big rock ;) Jokes aside, we are only scratching the surface. There must be trillions of stone age artifacts buried in the ground all over the world, to be never seen again. Perhaps there are more large structures like Gobelki Tepe. On the flip side, there are many natural fossils of creatures to be discovered, perhaps complete skeletons of unknown species of dinosaurs. All we can do is to enjoy the incomplete experience! Life is to short anyway to learn everything.
Very doubtful, that a Hunter gather society would exhaust it's resources. Modern day HG have a universal understanding of their environment and manage it skilfully. It's usually societies detached from the land, urban etc. Which have catasophic impacts. Christmas comes early at Earth lodge
I imagine you'll be glad you have that earth lodge when energy shortages make it too expensive to heat your home.
👍⭐️⭐️⭐️😊
Just subscribed to your channel and I am enjoying your videos. Also (and off topic); Are you familiar with the band Hawkwind?
Did he get the pygmy elephant into the box by asking the pygmy giraffe to budge up a bit?

My gut is telling me it was a votive offering cup for ritual purpose
Did any of those pieces bear the words ‘Aphrodite’ or ‘Island of love’ , if they do have, I have loads of them too. I’ll send some to you if you want them?

you're joking now... but you did ask a serious question about it... ''how legal that is''....
Did you said that this last artefact was... One Piece?!! 😅
They wouldn't have been grinding Corn in Crete not at that point in time, Corn is from the Americas and wasn't brought to the old world until after Columbus.
