Unveiling the Charm of the 52 Buick-A Classic Stillwater Pattern

Ойын-сауық

The 52 Buick is a classic pattern that deserves a place in any stillwater fly box. Developed by Gary Carlton of Edmonton, Alberta, to suggest a damselfly nymph, the 52 Buick also suggests scuds, caddis pupa and dragonfly nymphs. Its generic, scruffy nature has natural trout appeal and looks like something they want to eat.

would you tie this any smaller than a 12? Great tip to leave headroom!

You certainly could. It would make a great suggestive scud in that size. Cheers, Phil
