Also by laying sideways that could easily be twins by placing foam or something over the tiny crack between the shelves and the bed. That would make it yuge.

My Chinook is a 2001. It has 130,000 wildly successful miles, is in nearly stock trim, w only minor & reversible mods. After 16 years of using it 6+ months of the year, I recently went full-time. I’m extremely happy with my Chinook and would seriously recommend it to others, and I am considering trading it out for the Chinook in this video. There is only other one contender for this Chinook in the running, and it fails in terms of: quality, features, outside storage, and (the all important) views out the windows. I’m the 3rd owner of my Chinook, it had 30k miles when I got it, and was very-very well maintained. I really thought that it was more RV than I needed.. and it was more than I needed for the first 3 years (compared to truck/ tent camping.) But I upgraded my life in several ways (dogs & sometimes GFs) and I got older too, and the Chinook has been most EXCELLENT, with no problems & only standard maintenance. My modest modifications to this EXCELLENT unit include: outdoor shower (just open rear hatch); solar on top; removing both back-rests from dinette & adding memory foam for a (reversible, but) non-converting full-sized “man sized” bed ; a 2 inch front receiver; colorful strings of lights throughout that run on AAA batteries for atmosphere & indirect lighting. Because the design and quality of the Chinook is so VERY high these modifications are simple, easy, low cost. And they are 100% reversible ((in case I change my usage and decide that I want a full dinette back in place of the small pop-up dinette I now use.)) Gents, when you choose your RV make sure that you can bring along your main toys, as well as the gear those toys need: helmets, safety gear and tools. And that is what my “2 inch front receiver” is all about. For years I got along great mounting my motorcycle and mtn bike off the back 2 inch receiver using the “ultimate MX hauler” but I recently decided make things more convenient by adding the front receiver. edit Thanks for the Video you guys, well done!! Highest regards.

Looks very nice. Personally, I'm not a fan of Murphy beds as they make the space inside very narrow and block off the entire window on the one side. This same layout in the new Promaster with the Super High roof and a bed that raises into the ceiling would be perfect for me. No compromises and much more interior space and light and cooling crosswind.

A lot of RV manufacturers are putting way too much branding all over the vehicle. I prefer a cleaner look, solid color, no graphics, very little branding. Also, not showing exactly how to switch between dinette, sofa and bed modes was a huge fail. That's one of the most important things people need to see.

One main issue with the rear door, and rear drop down cooking tray, is that neither is under the awning. You won't be able to cook or prep anything outdoors if it's raining and not under the awning. Yes, I get it, you can't adjust to all inconveniences, but it's just an observation. Also, not having propone means no quick connect and burdens you to bringing your own propane tank.

I’m glad to see the resurrected Chinook RV brand appearing to prosper under new ownership! I see a lot of thoughtful design implementation here that makes for an attractive offering in the Class C category. I do wonder if the aluminum skin and structural frame construction are optimally sized with this material choice …as the CCC is unusually limited for this class of RV, which is also a narrower departure from typical cutaway rigs @ 8’ of exterior width. The engineering emphasis on enclosed tanks/plumbing additional insulation & 4 season HVAC performance may have influenced reduced living space dimensions and impact overall CCC. Adjustable locking cabinet latches would be a welcome addition, as I occasionally have to fix those within my 23’ Coach House Platinum TB 220. I’d like to see Chinook expand their chassis offerings to include Ford’s venerable E-450 platform, which allows a massively increased OCCC. The E-450 chassis would easily support the expansive slide-outs frequently requested by commenters here, while also allowing for a swiveling passenger seat, making the interior feel less confining. A partitioned twin bed layout for a dual-zone living space would broaden prospective consumer appeal Lots of potential for capturing increased Class C market share here. Keep up the good work!

I dislike losing the dinette when pulling the bed down, plus in general, I dislike Murphy beds. For my sister and I, we need twin beds. Also stay with the AWD chassis rather than 2WD. The Truma Aventa Air conditioning uses between 10.5 and 14 amps so less than the Dometic Penguin II which uses 18 amps. So the truma allows other devices to run. The consumption is between 1260Wh (10.5 x 120v) to 1680wh to cool down the rv. From the truma doc. And the heating systems uses 0.18GPH at max settings and 65w during 100 sec to start then it uses 45wh. You can complement the gasoline heating by the 5000 btu 120V heating integrated which would give you a total of 22000 btu (17000 + 5000). In the summer you can activate the gasoline heating only for the water and saving on the fuel., the hydronic systems with fuel gasoline must be used to heat the water. The 5000 btu 120v complement is not enough to heat water. All of these comes from the Elwell doc and Truma docs. Here are what i know

So, I'm hesitant to make this comment because there's enough kinda "negative" ones. Firstly, I love this one. It's a definite contender. It checks off most of my boxes. But the bed. I know a lot of people like Murphy beds, but I never have. It takes up too much window view space, and in this specific case, no ability for cross ventilation. Why do American manufacturers not take advantage of the roof space? Wingamm that just came to the US, has a super easy, non-electric pulldown bed. Perfect for small units. I would love to see an elevator bed. Question: Will Chinook add lifts for a better off-roading experience, if requested? Not an overlander of course, just wanting better clearance in those off-grid experiences. Thank you so much for your video! Great content.

Does the fuel and engine fluid are included in the dry weight. Some manufacturers does some don’t. So do you have 11000-9780 = 1220 lbs for passengers, their cargo and the water? If it is that, it is really impressive. Does the weight of the fire place included in the dry weight? Do you provide 4 external panel of 120w Expion included in the package or is it an option? Can you show the electrical system and the Elwell System certainly under the sofa and bed? Do you have a way to go on the roof, ( portable ladder ), or a ladder point where a ladder can be set ? Is the fireplace standard in the maverick ev360 with lithium, or is it an option and in this case how much weight does it add? Do you have an hdmi switch to connect multiple device to the tv in the televator. ? The Summit seems to have a jbl audio system with Subwoofer under the bed. why not in the maverick which have only a portable speaker?

I'd go darker, from a practical standpoint. It is still camping after all, with all the dirt and mess that does with it. And the fireplace and tv takes up a lot of valuable real estate with the storage and the weird multi level cushions on top of cabinets on either side. Lots of potential but not sure it all makes sense in reality.

Hello, thank you for commenting. Dry weight is about 9700 pounds. gvwr is 11,000. You have to add two occupants and a full tank of water for ccc. After those items, about 800 pounds left for misc items. The fireplace is an option, and the top cushions are removeable. Storage can be put in. Lastly, we have different color options we can offer if you don't like the white sofa. Have a great evening!

@@chinookmotorcoachif you provide 1300lbs with the full gas tank included i think it is very good. I have a utility trailer that can hold 3000lbs of cargo so 1300 is plenty for two petsons and a dog. And i would never fill the full fresh water tanks for the trip, but instead would bring bottle of water in my trailer, if your rv has a gravity fill for the water. I would put only 60 lbs in the tank. So 1300 is impressive to me in a transit chassis.

Good Afternoon Bill, Yes it can. There are straps on the bed that hold it in place. You'd use those same straps over your bedding. May not hold pillows, but blankets/ sheets, yes. Thanks for commenting, and Happy Holidays!

Do you have 1100 lbs cargo on the yellow sticker? Or is it something limited like 700? We need minimum 1100lbs. With our small 4x6 enclosed trailer i can put 3000lbs of stuff. But we need 1100 for two people and one dog, the food the kitchen tools, the electronics devices and a little water for the road, then we can detach the trailer on the campground to get back the 130 lbs on the tongue for more water in the tanks. In the trailer we can put jerricans gas, water bottles all the camping chairs table, 12v portable fridge, solar panel, bag of clothes, tyres for the rv and trailer, all the heavy stuff can go in the trailer which serves as a safe as well in the campground.

Hello, The Maverick is about 9700lbs Dry. Now, after 2 occupants, tank of water, you have about 750- 800 lbs average left. Travel without water, and you gain a little more. Thanks for commenting. Email us at Info@chinookrv.com for more info!

@@chinookmotorcoachthis is impressive on a transit with the very good electrical systems. It is probably due to no slide, no gen, and no propane, which is excellent. Do you export in Canada?

You should consider a Vegas 24.1. they are the same length, and the fixed rear bed can be two singles that expand into a king size bed. the sofa breaks down to a bed, just right for a seven-year-old. There is also a dropdown bunk in the front cab, that will hold a teenager. the chassis is the same as the Chinook, too. There is plenty of walk around room. The bath expands into a huge changing room and bathroom. And its fully functional with both doors closed, too! Just puttin it out there...

Hello, for all 21 temperature sensors, yes. The test consists of the coach sitting overnight in a 5 degree chamber with windows and doors open. Then, when they conduct the test, they shut the doors and windows and proceed to turn on the heat. For gold, you have to get the 21 sensors at 65 in under 4 hours. We did it in just over 3. There are a handful of any other coaches that have achieved this rating. Thanks for commenting, and have a Happy Holidays!
