What you may not realize, God forbid you ever pass, and you’ve got grandchildren. They’ll be able to watch your videos and see all about grandma, and all she did most days. It’s a living diary for yourself, but a legendary diary for your offspring.

An elderly woman in a nursing home, where I was working as a cleaner, told me that on a farm there is total equality. it may not always be verbally spoken, but in practice there was equality. She remembers her mother and grandmother, helping in the field at different times, she said when she was old enough, she went out in the field and helped. As she got older, she was able to do more. She said she got married and her husband moved onto her parents farm, it was several years before she had her own home. He built it in a spare time. This included collecting the wood, and making his own boards and beams. She told me she never heard any male farmer tell their female farmer, wife, or daughter, that they can’t work. It was true, that most of the time the women worked in support, such as bringing out food, and supplies. Going to town to pick up things for their husband and the farm. But there were times when every hand was needed. Not unlike my grandmother, she helped dig out the basement of the house, one bucket at a time whenever she could.

Total equality should mean that the husband helped his wife with her work too. Like inside, cooking, cleaning, washing clothes.

Would be like saying that an analyst has to clean when their's a cleaner (just about the chore, not saying they can just get everything dirty). If you actually knew how it is in a farm, you wouldn't make that comment.

​@@louiserenton9380 Equality on a farm is everyone helps where the help is needed. Yes, men did and do help with the wife's chores when they are needed. When wife is sick, away, having a baby, etc. Men cook, clean, take care of children and so on. Not the same way that the wife would maybe, but they still typically pitch in. I know that was the case with my grandparents. And it is the case with Sandy and Mark.

@MariaBareiss I did the same thing in 2019 during the big C period and found from vlog 87 to the updated one of that year. Binge watched everything and haven't missed one since.

As the new baby rolled in, I exclaimed, out loud, "awww, she's BEAUTIFUL!" The drone footage is really great, and when you looked up and laughed, it was like getting a virtual hug. I'm glad you are taking a break. I wish you travel mercies!❤ edited to add: remember that by taking a break you are role-modeling good self-care!

In 1969 as a 12 year old traveling alone, I spent 3 days on a sheep farm outside of Glasgow, our flight back to the States was snowbound delayed for the next leg. My seat mates on the flight were a kind lady and her daughter, and since I had no place to go, they took me home and made sure I was able to rejoin my flight a few days later. This was were I fell in love with lamb, and the country. My father worked for Pan Am so even as a kid I was a seasoned traveler and knew my way around any airport....you are surely going to love it there, I promise!

I can imagine weaning 2.1 last spring wasn’t noticed because family focus was taking priority, as it should. This speaks to how valuable it is to have a system to follow so even with all the worry, medical info to learn and appts to attend , lambing still went great. Glad Sandi is looking back and enjoying the success now ❣️

Jack’s basement room is beautiful. Great teamwork, happy you could help him. I am sure you all created some fun memories. Carissa is a godsend for you!!! She is trustworthy, dependable, loyal, and just as loving of the animals as you are. I know you know her worth…as an employee and as your “third child”. I have enjoyed watching her grow and mature in your videos to be a confident, beautiful young lady. She is a gem! Wishing Carissa minimal problems on the farm while Sandy and Mark are away. It’s absolutely heartbreaking. He struggled all his life with his mental health. ❤ It took me a long time to get to where I am after his loss. We always said that our power feed cart was the most valued piece of equipment for its size. All the forage and feed stored in our 14x70, 20x60 and 16x70 silos went through it to feed our dairy cows. Enjoy your trip!

We were the same way. We moved a lot and did so much renovation. Plus, we built a sm❤all cabin as well. It was fun but we are old now and all we have left are loving memories of all the hard work we put into those homes.

We spent 4 years in England. We spent a week in Glasgow toured a good part of Scotland. We enjoyed the 4 years there and have some great friends. We did every side of the island. Have fun and tell England we love you.
