Unsellables | FULL Episode | Nightclub Nightmare

With its purple walls, flashy disco accents, and nightclub-themed interiors, Jessica and Brandon completely overhauled their sprawling Toronto townhouse. While the funky renovations seemed like a good idea at the time, the property is now completely unsellable. Neighboring properties in the same complex typically sell in just a few days, but after six months on the market the couple hasn’t had a single offer and they’re starting to panic. Property expert Sofie Allsopp explains the home’s radical décor is like real estate poison and then unveils her plan for a dramatic family-friendly makeover that’s guaranteed to seal the deal.

Considering she's 11 years old now---this is from 2009---it's highly unlikely that "Goth" will be a thing when she's 16---and her Dad said he didn't want her to have any memories of the house, which is why they were (ostensibly) moving.

None of these homeowners actually made any sense when you get right down to it, but that's the point of the show, otherwise shows like this wouldn't be so popular. In fact, we need more shows like "Unsellables" and "Sell This House" that teach people how to clean up and stage their homes rather than "Property Brothers" that now routinely have budgets well over $50,000! Some people don't pay $50K for their first home, for pete's sake -- but in any event $5,000 is more than most people can afford for "getting the house ready for sale" too, let alone $50K to $100K. HGTV is trying for the millionaire/billionaire viewers, but they don't watch HGTV, LOL! This older show is more realistic about what most people's homes are actually like.

Interesting to some, ugly to others (I liked some of the lighting in this place, but some of it was awful). I always wish we could see where someone went and bought something after it got neutralized, and come back to find it super unique again and even funnier would be to see similar fixtures to what had to be swapped out to do the neutralizing.

If the price was right, homebuyers could have overlooked the dreadful decor and redecorated to their own taste. This was basically a great house. The fact the house still has not received offers is puzzling.

I have owned six properties, some rentals, BUT have never considered any of them my "forever home,." I make decorating choices with an eye toward eventually listing it or renting. A lot of time and money wasted on "Dracula the Drag-Queen" decor. At least the kitchen was fairly middle-of-the-road.

Not sure but think the Bee Gees lived here and thought I saw John Travolta over in the corner singing Staying Alive. But it could have been the Bat Cave as there was a bat signal coming out. The question Sofie didn't ask was: "What were you thinking?" If they knew it was hideous and garish, why did they do it?

I am as far from Goth as I could be, but I could live in that house. I ordinarily don't like black much either. But it feels cozy to me except for the ceiling lights. I would change those but otherwise, purple is my favorite color.

Why did they still keep the louvered windows shut in daylight? No framed wallpaper here! I don't think they gave the cost of the reno--bet it was a lot. I wonder what Brits who were former fans of Unsellables program think about Canadian and American South homes?

He used a lot of imagination, and the house did not look cheap or childish. I liked it with the black and purple, but today's buyers continue to be oblivious to changes they can make themselves. The ones who make me want to slap them are the plastic housewives looking at million-dollar properties and whine "I really don't like that light fixture." Like a chandelier is a deal-breaker? How do these people get through an average day of Problem-solving.
