As much as I hate flying, if the flight attendants told me we were returning to the airport due to an unruly passenger, I would have to ask, "If I beat him unconscious for you, could we continue on to our destination?"

Or entitled shitheads who think because they purchased a ticket they own the plane. I dealt with this type of person on the way to Hawaii once. I caused the plane to pull out of the taxi line because of the verbal barrage of insults from a woman behind me. I felt she should’ve been tossed off the plane but the crew decided to get aloft and move the shithead somewhere else. Oh and the inciting incident was my wife politely reminding the woman to keep her mask on. This was near the end of the first year of the pandemic and everyone was told repeatedly they would have to wear their masks the entire time from the second they stepped into the airport until they were street-side at their destination. But this horror of a human decided she didn’t have to obey the rules.

The pilots made arrangements with company to have security meet the aircraft at the gate and escort the miscreants into the terminal for their appointment with destiny. The blundering controller inserted himself into a situation that was already controlled.
