'Unpopular truth' about Indigenous people in modern day Australia revealed

Sky News host Liz Storer says prominent No campaigner Warren Mundine’s National Press Club address was “absolute gold”.
“It’s an unpopular truth at the moment, right now, that if you are an Indigenous Australian in modern day Australia, you have every opportunity to succeed,” Ms Storer told Sky News host Sharri Markson.
“You have every opportunity to thrive - there are government bodies, there are organisations, etc.
“Everything that we’ve heard from the Yes campaign is insisting that there’s still a gap to be closed here because we haven’t done enough.”
Ms Storer’s remarks come after Mr Mundine addressed the National Press Club of Australia on Tuesday, just under three weeks away from the Voice referendum as he provided alternatives.

Taxpayers give $30B annually for 984,000 people (3.8% of the population) • Expenditure per person in 2012-13 was $43,449 on Indigenous Australian compare to $20,900 on other Australians a ratio of 2.08 to 1 and increase from 1.95 in 2009. 3,278 Aboriginal corporations • 243 Native title bodies • 48 Land councils • 35 Regional councils • 122+ Aboriginal agencies • 3 Advisory bodies • 145 Health Organisations • 11 Indigenous Federal MPs • 12 Culturally important Indigenous days • Senator Price says Australian taxpayers spend at least $100 million a day on direct support for Indigenous Australians. Every year $39.5 billion of direct government expenditure every single year. The figures are based on the 2017 Indigenous Expenditure Report produced by the Productivity Commission. Issues of racial and social injustices are hardly ousted by elevating and heightening race (cultural identification, credentials). Especially on a political level, but also within the wider community. The Voice to Parliament is all about adding a new “Elite Canberra-based bureaucracy” in the constitution rather than reconciliation or recognition of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. Australia has over 270 cultures, let’s embrace them all, but most importantly let’s embrace the Australians who make up our country first. The individual, and not limit Australians as only their cultural identification, credentials. It began with a separate flag, (Hardly a unifying symbol. Oh you guys aren't Australian?). And has ballooned to billions of taxpayers money funding, and Acknowledgement of traditional owners, the loss of the ABC (now a mouthpiece for the cause) and a generational attack, offensive, assault on muti-cultural Australia that has left us divided, and embarrassed of Australia’s wonderful past. All to serve the self seeking, selfish interests of a very small militant, embittered and clearly corrupt organisation. This small ‘elite’ group has garnered incredible levels of power, and influence thanks to some very clever, and less than honest use of any available manipulation available to them, especially the weaponization of race. For decades our schools and Australian society in general has attacked, shamed and reviled our European heritage, while conversely literally inventing, exaggerating, and simply fantasising over Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander ‘culture’. The Voice is not a path to reconciliation, and harmony it is a path to entrench structural racism within our nation's constitution. Something that should be abhorrent to all Australians but particularly so to Indigenous Aboriginal, and Torres Strait Islander’s. So please Greens, and The ALP don’t lecture and moralise any Australian on our tolerance, open-mindedness, or our almost universal acceptance of the Aboriginal people. The Voice is fluff, popular, crowd-pleasing, and overt virtue signalling, encouraging intolerance, narrow-mindedness, and dogmatism. Yet beyond this reality. The Voice is another expensive misuse of money that could and indeed should be actually being used to improve the lives of Australians. And perhaps even used to improve the lives of all Australians in need, without any thought to their race? Or their cultural background! Victimhood culture has taken over the Australian political landscape. Victimhood culture is another technique in obtaining power, and silencing opposition. The moment Australia stepped over the line from equality to a favoured group, we took a massive misstep. Vote no to this scam

Meanwhile Australians of all skin colours and heritages are going hungry, homeless and without medical care or education. There are droves of single, loveless men out there disenfranchised with society at large, there is a larger than ever gap between the lower class and the upper class, the middle class barely exists anymore, no one can afford to go to work anymore but we do it anyway, for some reason still hoping those $2 a litre for petrol prices will go back down to $1, it never will Australia. Unless we take back our country from the oligarchs.

That was an interesting first for Richo. In denial of conversations that has engaged the country and on the news every day with words dripping from the PM's mouth. Want's to sell the country because he is a team player. Want's to change the constitution because he is a team player. That is spinless. Probably will vote no on the day, but publicly a spinless grey suited yes. That is lame, weak, and unpatriotic. What about putting Australia before party? I am voting 'No' because I read the Uluru Statement and concluded it was bad to put a race-based body into the constitution with privileges no other race has. Australia is made up of many races but naturalised or born into a single nationality. Australia. One nation, one flag, and one anthem not many nations, or more flags. Aboriginal activists have unleashed hell on Australian citizens, and we will need to deal with the fallout carefully. The first thing necessary is to not promote aboriginal activists to promote their grievance industry. Unfortunately, some medial find relevance in controversy, not accurate news or truth.

I'm voting NO, however, the money which is supposed to go to providing better facilities to those who need it... but that money is being wasted on admin, who are lining their own pockets, while their own who are in need are not getting it. There must be a full audit of monies spent and outcomes. Any fraudulent grab of money must be addressed, then we'll see who is rorting the system. Royalties are paid by all mining companies in WA to the mobs in the area of the mines. It goes to the elders who are supposed to disperse it, for the betterment of the mob, but it's not changing anything, so where is it being spent. It's time those receiving money must be accountable for that money, no more of "secret business". The same as Native Title. What happens to the land handed "back to them"? Does it then come under United Nations control? Given that our greatest threat, has a seat as a permanent member on the United Nations, how do we protect that land, given that, that land is one containing rare earth which is in short supply. What are the repercussion of land under Native Title, not only to Aboriginal Nations, because that's what they were known as, will they no less longer be considered Australia.

Preferential should be taken out of our voting system as preferential voting goes to Labor or Liberal no other party which is so wrong, we need a new party in parliament someone who loves Australia and it's people

It’s interesting, the whole opportunity and victimhood debate with indigenous Australians. I work in an area with quite a large’ish indigenous population. A lot are in government homes and are there most days, not working. We are crying out for workers in my area. In saying that, I do work with 2 half indigenous guys. 1, was brought up around the indigenous culture, on his fathers side. The other was brought up around his white side of the family, with minimal to do with his mothers side of indigenous ancestry. The 1 who grew up around indigenous people, plays the victim continuously. He is about to quit here and is always complaining. He is only 24 and has gone from job to job. Opportunity is there, he just doesn’t take it. The other guy, brought up around his white side of the family, thrives at his job. He is actually looking at a promotion and this is only his second job in his lifetime. Funnily enough as well, they are both the same age. Just a bit of perspective.

This lady is absolutely right. It is a fallacy that some claim that Aboriginal/Indigenous (A/I) Australians are in any practical sense at a disadvantage when compared to other Australians. Some A/I Australians choose to live in remote areas and it is a fact that living in such areas makes it difficult for Governments to provide the services to them that other Australians more easily enjoy. A/I Australians have precisely the same access to services and assistance that other Australians have. That's not quite true. In fact, as stated here, there are many programs that benefit A/I Australians in ways that are not available to other Australians. It is therefore quite wrong of A/I Australians to play the victim card in these times. Unequal results for them have nothing at all to do with prejudice or injustice or an unwillingness to help them. Many A/I people simply fail to integrate into Australia as a whole and that is their choice. If Australia had not been settled by white people and had still not been discovered, A/I people would still live exactly as their ancestors have done we are told for some 60,000 years. Australia is the modern, prosperous, congenial place that it is precisely and ONLY because of white settlement. A/I people have, in my opinion, contributed little to Australia's success in the wider world.
