OMG, that was my life, I too drove, at the time I bought my Rolex Submariner (10-1985, 5513 no-date), a white 1977 Porsche 911S. It was my first luxury/tool watch. Went through a few Porsche 911’s over the years, wore that Rolex everyday till I gifted the Rolex 10 years ago to my nephew upon his graduation with a PhD. He most unlikely will never part with it. Thanks for the memories.

Thanks Cam, these later 5513’s have definitely come into their own game over the last couple of years and I think the zenith tt Daytona’s are next, what’s your opinion? Cheers mate.

I think they will for sure.. TT watches have always been soft but especially with the Daytona range, I see them creeping for sure. especially the early zenith TT Daytonas that possess the key elements that collectors like floating "Cosmograph" or inverted 6's etc

I love the ref 14060's I think that they have their own cult-like following for sure and I think the random serial and or the 4line 14060's for sure have desirability within the collector market. additionally, I think they are quite functional pieces of kit and they are a bookend to the reference range the book ends meaning the earliest examples and the last examples within a reference range always tend to retain high desirability. Id always push you towards a tritium dial though because I think that T dials will always command a premium over the Lumi dials but that's more of a preference as well!

The reference range as a whole can widely vary in price as it was produced for a very long time and there are many different variations of the 5513 that ultimately factor into the pricing of specific examples!
