I believe He meant what He said, and you are right for saying it's a market strategy, but this is my take, The music industry is a self-centered industry, artist do or say what ever they want without caring for it's aftermath on others. What Big Wiz is doing right now will definitely work, but let's wait for the aftermath probably after the album release. And I hope the album is really worth the it.❤❤❤
I think it’s just the best way to make everyone to be eager to listen to that upcoming album to see the genre content in it..smart boy

Yehhh I'm thinking same
From his post, I agree he's not an Afrobeats artist. His catalog speaks for itself! I just started venturing into Afrobeats/Amapiano mostly now, but before my music was mostly centered around house and modern pop music (which I have incorporated into Afrobeats/Amapiano). I think it's important to adapt in different eras of music. Wizkid without a doubt has done this. I commend him for this. He has evolved.

Wizkid reminds me of how Jamaicans killed their Dancehall by making it trap and hip-hop.
This man and dark humor on our starboi 😂
Call me old school I don't care, I prefer old wizkid with a sprinkle of r&b . Davido songs are always relatable, I don't look up to wizkid I don't fan him.
