You need a kitas and a work permit, you visa can be sponsored by your Indonesian spouse and the company applies for your permit.

I would assume what you do in your own personal life, whilst on vacation, has nothing to do with the local authorities as long as you are not taking a job or potential job, from a local. I imagine many people on vacation check emails and deal with their businesses by phone or skype etc, which technically is "working" but you are not engaged full time. Alternatively there is a "Digital Noman Visa which covers actually "working in Bali" for a company based outside of indonesia. More videos to follow!!
