Unlocking the Old Testament Part 57 - Zechariah 1
David Pawson says that Zechariah overlapped Haggai by one month, and had some similar prophecies but it is not an easy book to understand. It has apocalyptic prophecies. David explains that describing something in the distant future requires pictures and symbols such as Revelation, Ezekiel and Daniel have. How would you describe television to somebody who lived a thousand years ago? Whereas Haggai dealt with the current problems, much of Zechariah’s messages were looking far forward. Zechariah was a priest as well as a prophet and for the next 400 years there would be no direct word from God via prophets so priests would assume more importance. The book divides into 2 halves, the first 8 chapters concerned with the current situation in Israel. He reminds them that ignoring the prophets had caused their forefathers to be deported to Babylon. There were angels involved in messages to Zechariah. He was told that there was a window of world peace, so it was an ideal time for the Jews to get the temple built. Zechariah assures his people that the Lord will deal with the nations who harm them, but also, some Gentiles will join them. David explains symbols in the book. This is an encouraging study.

35:31 'You cannot establish the Kingdom of God by military or political power' This is so relevant in the US right now. So many disappointed Christians who looked forward to usher in a great revival and the kingdom of God through the ballot. And they compromised their principles for a wicked man from NY.
Zechariah is my favorite book I love how David Pawson teaches this book. I am going to pass this on when I teach Zechariah on the radio

I keep Going Back to Mr. Pawson's detailed Historical teachings of the Old Testament and it enlightens me of each Books' Background and it Gives me a Very Clear Understanding of the New Testament and the End Times. We are Privelege to get hold of this teachings now. May God Fire us up to be more zealous for the Task while dependeng more on His Spirit to equipt us to walk in righteousness and in Holiness as we gain more understanding. The ‘keys’ are a Kabbalistic inference. This man is not a person I trust. Please be very prayerful and careful. We are in the last of the last days and Satan has planted many wolves into the Church dressed up as sheep.

God bless brother David..will see you at the 7th trumpet. I have dug into the Hebrew of Zech..incredible book. I do believe that the olive trees are the two houses, Israel and Judah, not individuals. This is reflected in Jeremiah and other places referring to branches broken off the green olive tree. Rev 11 makes similar reference and again per Ezekiel 37 these are the two ets, sticks boughs branches rods or trees that will be one in the hand of our Holy one of Israel, Redeemer, King Savior High Priest Messiah and brother. All praise Yahweh and Yahusha..Ieous in Greek or in modern Germanglish, Jesus. Yes original KJV uses Greek Iesous then after glorious revolution William of Orange insists on German Dutch Jesu which combines to Jesus.

Made me think that all those bicycles were the audience that didn’t have a full understanding of the teaching so that they couldn’t put the teaching into practical use because there was a brake in the chain that could “drive” the gears of motion
The vision about bikes could be representing those who lead an empty christian life that won't get them anywhere.
Excellent overview of a book that sometimes suddenly jumps forward to the endtimes. "The LORD of heavens armies" is incorrect - the original Hebrew says "Yahweh of armies". Zechariah's name means " Yahweh has remembered". Other than that this video is flawless.
where did Jeremiah predict that Jerusalem would outgrow the walls

if your bible says in Zech 5v11 Babylon or babylonia you will never understand the hidden message here.. IT MUST SAY LAND OF SHINAR.. man did not know God hid a message so he started changing words.. Babylon is associated with Neuchanezzar but Land of Shinar is associated with NIMRON, Babel is much older than Babylon.. Nebuch is associated with the hanging gardens but Nimrod is associated with the tower, one world language, speech. the throat!!

I am uncertain as to whether Joshua is an actual priest living upon the land or what seems to me correct a figure in the vision. In this manner Joshua becomes a symbol for Israel.

Could it be both ? - Joshua in Hebrew is Yeshua (Y is pronounced J). Yeshua when translated into Greek is Iesous - from which we get the English word Jesus

@@DavidPawsonMinistry Thank you for your reply. The text leans almost entirely as symbolism and as you clear pointed out the name is Jesus. Also I consider the symbolic meaning of Zerrubabel. To take it in the context of visual symbolism is consistent with the text. It seems unlikely that instructions for an actual crown were to be directions to be followed. It seems unlikely. The structure of king and priest continues though not earthly. They are two witnesses and that stays consistent throughout. Thank you for deepening my understanding of this awesome scripture.

@@dianemottram3060 My personal opinion is that it was symbolic and actual as David says it would not have been permitted for Israel to have a King when under foreign rule but the line of David needed to be protected

@@DavidPawsonMinistry Do you know of any documentation of the high priests up to the time of the Lord's visitation? I am guessing the other priests appointed him to that office.. but here it is God's appointment.. We do know by the time of the Lord's physical appearance the office of high priest was terrible. The line of David ...does it continue to exist?

Jesus - he is still alive, and .......is coming back...... this time to rule
