Unlocking the Old Testament Part 49 - Obadiah and Joel 2
David Pawson says that Joel agreed with Obadiah that the Day of the Lord would settle accounts, but Joel warned Israel that they would be included. This was a shock to Israel as they had felt safe from God’s judgment. Joel said that a terrible plague of locusts which had left them with famine had been a warning from the Lord. God had visited their enemies with disasters; now they had brought this disaster upon themselves. David says it is similar with believers today when they realize that the Word of God warns against losing their salvation. “Sin in God’s people is just as serious as sin outside God’s people.” Joel called the people to repent and come back to God. David notes that Jezebel’s daughter Athaliah had seized the throne on the death of the king and killed all his male descendants (except one hidden by the High Priest) and nobody had done anything to stop her. After Joel’s words, Queen Athaliah was replaced by the boy who had been saved, Joash. David says that when there is true heart repentance, God can restore the years that the locusts have eaten in our lives. Joel prophesied a time when God’s Spirit would be poured on believers.

41:41 the good news is that creation wil be restored. scriptures starts with creation and ends with a new creation. this is the full gospel and jesus is in all of this, from start to end.

40:52 amen. isaiah prophesied it. john saw it in his vision. it may be difficult to wrap our minds about why god would rather in the new earth with us rather than in the new heavens with us. but that is what is clearly written. we will have to wait for that time to come to understand or be given the explanation why if we still can not see the wisdom of it.

Love this teaching... How many Jewish laws should Christians keep though? I feel like you're right and Jews and Christians are heavily linked but it seems uneven how they have hundreds of laws and we don't have any really.

40:27 it is pure blindness for those who teach that god has nothing to do with israel anymore. paul and john clearly teach the opposite.

Greetings from Texas in the USA. He mentioned that God doesn’t divorce people. Didn’t God divorce Israel In Jeremiah 3:6-8, or am I missing something?

Hi You are correct God did divorce Isreal in Jeremiah - but GOD never married another in their place , What David is saying is that God does not divorce people - "people divorce people".

Sorry this is wrong. Just because you sin, does NOT mean you lose your name in the lambs book of life! You may lose rewards in heaven, but you can NEVER lose your name from the book. Christ died for past, present and FUTURE sins! We are eternally secure if we trust and have faith in Jesus Christ! Read the Bible for yourselves! Don't just trust man on his word. Read for yourselves.

Please do not Trust David on his words alone - David himself says throughout this teachings - ''Read the Bible for yourself !'' - if you cannot find in the Bible what I (David) teach ''disregard everything I (David Pawson) says'' - but I cannot dismiss many verses of the Bible that support Davids position Ex 32:32-33 Whoever has sinned against me I will blot out of my book (Gods words ) Ps 68:28 May they be blotted out of the book of life and not be listed with the righteous

There over 80 scriptures in new testament that clearly illustrates what you suggested is not Biblical. Once saved always saved is a BIG LIE. He who endures to the end.... Continue in His goodness...

He is quoting scriptures, where Christ says he will blot out their name.... This is also repeated in the old testament, Christ clearly says he has not come to do away with the Law! We are covered as repented believers when we ain again will Christ die again? Without repentance and turning away from sin no man will see GOd 🙏 all scriptures
The only thing I would take issue with is 24:04 when David talks about the famous verse (Joel 2:28) "I will pour out My Spirit on all flesh". David says that the LITERAL translation is "all kinds of people" rather than "all people"... however I have looked up the original Hebrew, and the words in question are "kal basar" - but "kal basar" DOES mean literally "ALL FLESH"....so I don't see how David can make the assumption that it means "all kinds of people" - in fact for me it would tend rather towards the interpretation that most people seem to have of that verse - that of being "all people"....
41:53 the ekklesia is all believers, israelites first and gentiles grafted after; then more of the unbelieving israelites who will become believers. the nation of israel is god's nation. it belongs to his people, believing israelites and gentiles alike, not who the world call "jews."
WAY TOO MANY COMPLICATION WITH REPLACEMENT THEOLOGY....GOD STILL LOVE THE HEBREW....THEY WILL LOOK ON HIM AND KNOW IT IS HE THAT THEY CRUCIFIED.....!!!!

25:50 All the 120 were jews but no longer of the jewish faith. Jesus came to fulfill the old law and now the true Christian faith is made available to jew and gentile alike. These BELIEVERS understood that Jesus came to fulfill the prophecies of the Old Testament. The jewish faith is now null and void. The true jews are those Christians that hold on to the faith and belong to the Church Jesus established.

Its good to read the Present with Religion, a book for free on the internet.The book is about the truth of life and it shows the full picture of life for the first time so that you may stop being deceived by the world and be able to follow the steps of Jesus and other prophets to Heaven.Knowing the truth is the key factor in our salvation.We mudt know the truth and live in it and change ourselves according to it in order to be saved.There is no other way to our salvation.With the knowledge of the truth there comes true repentance which means changing our minds and also true obediance to God' s law and finally our sanctification which is a lifelong process.And God in His mercy will give us His wonderful grace which is the time and ability to make the proper change.Only in thia way will we be able to attain our eternal salvation.Our task is to find find this narrow gate that leads to Gos and do it quickly and stay on it till the end no matter what.Then and only then we will be saved.
