It also helps that even those passions that don’t pay much anywhere else can be offset by the Japanese Government’s Welfare Programs. In other countries when you follow passions that dont pay much, you just become more stressed.

Love your work - but not sure your nailed this one. There seems to be something highly of value at a strategic level that has been missed. I know in my own productivity models, ikigai was a a critical piece of the puzzle at the strategic level.

Ethnicity effects longevity. Ikigai may be helpful to anyone but don't expect to live to 100 if you don't have Okinawan genetics and live in their culture and environment. Great video though and customization of this useful concept.

Happiness is different from fake smiles... true happiness is from the heart & it's due to satisfaction of giving or helping others without expectations of profit or appreciation... this comes more easily when you are in a relationship with God and you're guided by His wisdom
