These facts she is stating are true. my hair is so thick n I even cry sometimes because I have so much hair now n i dnt kno what to do with it. Change ur diet it will help. Thanks for this

The environment helps a lot in terms of growth. Most of us on this platform live in cold dry western countries, which is the worst place for our hair and nails. After travelling and living abroad for a while, I came to the conclusion that Equatorial Africa is heaven on earth. Like my nails never break here (and they're super fragile in the North) and my hair grows so much faster (I feel like 1 inch a month). Never experimented that anywhere else, even in other tropical regions.

This is an excellent break down. I think the vocabulary we use is so important and can be the key to successfully reaching our goals. I am always challenging the statement that "my hair doesn't grow" when it is coming from a healthy person. What you probably mean is that you are not retaining your growth. When we understand what is really going on we can make the changes necessary or stop hoping for the impossible. So glad you took the time to make this video. I shared it!

So basically all I have to do is buy one good shampoo, one good leave-in and one good sealant/oil. 👍🏽 After I'm finished using all of the products I've bought I'm going to narrow them down to the three, and save myself some money... I've been pondering doing that for quite some time now.... your findings make so much sense! 😊

The key to growing your hair is to protective style 1-2 times a month and wash 1-2 times a month. Anything more or anything less is unnecessary and can actually be damaging. Plus go all out for wash day. Do a pre poo, deep condition, detangle thoroughly, use essential oils, use the LOC method. All of these will make a world of difference.

I think trimming is pushed so much in the black community. I honestly don't want to trim my hair for a while even though I have a section of heat damage.

I did not know this about stress. At my current job, before my hair was growing at a certain rate and was thick. After I started it was super stressful and caused depression. My hair has seemed to stop growing and I was losing a lot. I thought it was poor care. I did change roles and my hair is doing better, but I always thought it was me making an effort, but the effort was no different. To think of it, before I started this job, I did not do this much to my hair. So I agree what you are saying, my hair (and skin) are probably revolting because of my job.

I love what you said about watching what you eat for maximum hair growth. I noticed a big change when I started eating a plant based diet. It made a lot of sense when you said the body takes all the nutrients it needs and whatever is left goes to your hair and nails. When I saw my hair growth I was eating so much nutrient dense food that my hair nails and skin benefited from it! Love your hair and your gap. I have a gap in my teeth too and I love it!! Great video! I am so glad you explained how coarse hair is the thickness of the strand. So many people are misinformed about this. I have a mixture of coarse and fine hair. The majority of my strands are coarse and along the perimeter is very fine. I deal with my hair according to this knowledge because as you mentioned finer hair is very delicate and more prone to breakage. Thank you for keeping it 💯!

Gorgeous eyes, Laila! I have noticed that my entire hair grows at different rates. I had the tapered cut and as I was transitioning back to natural and growing my sides and undercut out, the shaved parts grew faster which I found very interesting!! Especially the back of my head where my hair is like 3c-4a, loose and barely shrinks. I have multiple textures. I also notice that when my hair was really short, it grew slow but 8 months into being being natural, my hair is growing faster.

yes I understand everything you said, I was born with fine hair but now due to menopause & hormones my hair is getting thinner. I also have inherited female pattern baldness on the top of my head.but I have been natural for 4 years & hope to keep going as long as possible. Yes sometimes genetically it sucks.
