The year before watching the video where Ms.Lippy was with y’all, I did the toothpicks and jars method. And it took forever! And there were no roots formed on the slips-they had to go in another jar to wait some more! In fact, I missed the season! Not only that, but I was cleaning jars and changing the water Atleast weekly. Never again!😄

This will be my first year of planting sweet potatoes, and I’m waiting for the slips to come from Sand Hill Preservation Center. I (obviously) don’t know what will grow well here or what will be best appreciated as food, so I’m getting an assortment. I’m hoping to get another assortment next year and try them. Once I know what produces well and is well liked, I’ll be saving some for future propagation. Y’all are being blessed with the harvest, but famine followed the plenty for Joseph, which is why he had stores of food put by. He was blessed that the famine didn’t happen first.

Danny you said you're a month behind. Well I'm there too. I had decided that I wasn't going to grow this year. I'm having serious pain issues with both knees & both hands, wrists, and up my forearms. Well it was more painful to not be growing food than how my physical pain was lol. So living in Pennsylvania I'm not too far behind, but I am behind my usual schedule. I may have missed the best window time to get peas, beans and some other stuff in, but I'll be fine with the majority of crops. Of course I had to rely on the local greenhouse garden centers in our area for peppers and tomatoes. Luckily we have some great places nearby. Thanks for being one of the channels I watch that helped motivate me to get out and grow.

I have a suggestion, the long vines of sweet potatoes, leave the main root in the dirt, and make a mount of dirt in any place of the vine, as soon as the vine sees that there is dirt around it, it will produce lots of roots there where you made the mount of dirt. At that point, you can either cut it apart because you have roots on it, or leave it, because where the mount is, is going to have sweet potatoes under, whether you cut it or not, so having a long vine, you can actually leave it and make mounts of dirt to it, and sweet potatoes will grow under. I made about 12 mount of dirt in one vine and never cut it. And it produced sweet potatoes in every mount plus the main sweet potatoe.

I made the mistake of only saving one sweet potato for slipping. Well, it rotted and I didn't get any slips. I had a tiny piece of another one left in a pot that sprouted, but it only produced 2 slips. O am attempting to grow those on to make more, but it's a battle. I'm sure it's the soil and the chemtrails causing the issues.

Should I have tried to root them in some water before I planted them? I hope they live because the slips were quite expensive. Thank you.

Last year I threw some sweet potatoes into a small cardboard box with potting soil and dampen it if I thought about it and grew several slips. I can grow huge amounts of sweet potatoes and I love to harvest them but I don't use very many don't like them sweet so only use a few to fry with white potatoes and onions and baked in the skin with butter only. My daughter loves sweet potatoes but only has them on rare occasion because they cause her to have kidney stones, she suffered with kidney stones until she stopped eating sweet potatoes.
