    the beauty of this interview/podcast is that - Biswa represents a LOT of audience members (from Engineering/science background) and has asked questions that most viewers would understand or would be intrigued about. Devdutt Pattanaikji ke to kya kehne.. he is a guru of philosophy, mythology, fiction, GOD. So even though this is an 'unlikely pairing' this is perfect.. Sharin and Anuya.. wishing more success to you girls.. !! keep em coming

    Biswa is spot on, translations do distort (unintentionally) the original meaning of the Scriptures, (try it for yourself in your own mother tounge and to other languages ) and biswas I think didn't mean to say "propaganda" he intended to say "propagated" but great Devdutt has answers to all questions, he's a knowledgeable guy and an amazing author

    FINALLY someone admitting that the last few seasons of GoT have not been good. :/ I keep seeing everyone (except the hardcore blogs on tumblr and elsewhere) just praising GoT continuously and how it keeps getting better and I always rate season 5 and 7 at the bottom of the list. Tbh I feel the lack of source material post S4 shows clearly. Good episode, barring sound issues, liked Biswa's questions and Devdutt Pattanaik is always fun to listen to!

    Well spirituality rests on the idea that if you dissolve your limited identity and identify only with the infinite, you'll become divine. So I don't agree that you'll go mad if you let go of your mythology. On the contrary, you'll simply start to live in reality rather than the made up world in your head - you'll get enlightened.

    Godel's theorem actually states that to prove the consistency of any system that system will itself have to be inconsistent (a paradox) i.e. you can't prove consistency of any system from within itself you'll have to have something out of that system that proves its consistency. Suggesting, in a way, metaphysically of course, that if the universe is a consistent system there must exist some entity outside the universe which proves its consistency.

  • @Newtonissac6

    @Newtonissac6

    6 жыл бұрын

    Ubaid Imtiaz But I believe that's only true for very well defined axiomatic systems. I don't know if we can use that for the universe or reality in general. Metaphysics compromises a lot of rigour so I am unsure of how Godel's incompleteness can be brought into a metaphysical discussion.

  • @ubaidimtiaz1

    @ubaidimtiaz1

    Of course it can't be brought or implemented or generalized to something as metaphysical as universe without stating underlying assumptions and axioms but I think that's what Biswa was hinting at in the video.

    He was right about GOT--later seasosn have surpassed the RRM's plot points. They were written more by the creators of the show than RRM (only good parts of the show are the bits it is still following RRM). Also, haha, he is ironically true about RRm NEVER finishing the story!
