Unleashed gehören zu den Pionieren der schwedischen Death Metal-Szene und sind seit 1989 nahezu in ihrem Gründungs-Lineup unterwegs. Die Band um Sänger und Bassist Johnny Hedlund beherrscht ein abwechslungsreiches Repertoire von druckvoll-aggressiv bis hymnisch-episch.
Unleashed wurden im November 1989 in Stockholm gegründet - aus der Asche der Pionier-Death-Metal-Band Nihilist. Im Laufe der Jahre gab es nur sehr wenige Besetzungswechsel. Heute besteht die Band aus Johnny Hedlund (Bass und Gesang), Fredrik Folkare (Leadgitarre), Anders Schultz (Schlagzeug) und Tomas Måsgard (Rhythmusgitarre).
Unleashed sehen sich in erster Linie als Live-Act. Musikalisch bleibt die Band ihren Wurzeln treu und entwickelt sich innerhalb ihres eigenen Musikstils weiter. In den Texten von Unleashed geht es meist um Wikinger-Traditionen und -Werte. Laut eigener Aussage streben Unleashed danach, „die obersten Wikinger des schwedischen Death Metal zu sein“. Sie wollen „die Zukunft des Viking Death Metal anführen und definieren“.

Here's the thing, I'm 49 now. I was there back in da day when Unleashed played venues in Uddevalla, Gotheburg and so forth and i STILL get the same buzz from the music. Metal will NEVER die.

Johnny is the real deal As a founding former member of Nihilist (Entombed) he's stayed true to the dm genre with his band Unleashed all the way till now unlike Entombed who released a bunch of crap albums after their first 2 good ones

Crap albums my ass. Entombed always tried to break new grounds driven by their creativity, while Unleashed have chosen to be second class but solid death metal in their whole life. Both decisions are respectable.

Bro, all hail Entombed, too, but you obviously never listened to first class masterpieces like The Hunt for White Christ and many more. Hundred times better stuff than the Hippie rock on Same Difference.

@@bmailmann3448 For me it's a mediocre DM album, sorry to disappoint. Same Difference was however something fresh at the time. Hippy rock? You can call that hippy rock, I don't mind. It was still more entertaining for me than listening to the same old cliche riffs again and again in a style and sound that has been perfected by Entombed themselves ages ago.

They were able to bring to the stage the best their!All musicians extremely crave to accomplish that getting meet together to give away a unique experience for all who are gathering up to watching them playing. It's typically skill from bands long-serving artistic labour in music industry and long time on road keeping their loyal fan base untouched up.

Please raise bitrate on your streams. I simply do not understand how it's possible that such a big company releases 1.5mb/s streams in 2024. It was OK 10 years ago, but not in 4K era.

A study was down about festival crowds and who had the least amount of shit happen. I believe metal shows had the least. I forgot what type of music had the most shit happen.
Hedlund would´ve made some badass Baron Harkonnen.

Excelente escolha. Eles são um dos principais e primeiros percursores do verdadeiro Death metal 🤘 (Old School) escutei Unleashed eu tinha meus 17 anos de idade. Foda demais essa banda!

Wow all of the guys retained their full hair as if they are still 20s it is a rare occurence these days that all members of a rock band is all long hair ...heck even young bands doesnt sport long hair today
Im publikum geht so gut wie nix ab. Nur vereinzelt hier und da Headbanging. Ansonsten rumstehing und evil glotzend. Früher war das anders. Heute geht fast nix mehr ab, auf welchem Konzert auch immer. Finde ich persönlich sehr schade.

Beobachte ich bei Metal Konzerten immer mehr in den letzten 10 Jahren. Find ich auch extrem schade. Ich war vor Kurzem in Leipzig bei Samsas Traum und da war zehn Mal mehr Headbanging und Abgehen angesagt obwohls ja gar keine "richtige" Metal Band ist.
