I miss this ride. A great 45 minute air conditioned break from the sweltering Florida summer.
This was back when Disney wanted to put educational stuff in their parks to help educate people. I think stuff like that, especially in Walt Disney World, needs to stay, honestly.

I will miss the old EPCOT and what it stood for, but I am optimistic that Disney will keep the educational elements that we love into the guardians ride just as they did with test track and mission space. RIP horizons and world of motion

It will be offering seats that do nothing, and a giant tv screen of guardians of the galaxy and or star wars. I hate what Disney has become. Parks are dead.
As a little kid this ride was phenomenal now it’s amazing
I know a lot of people didn't like this attraction, but I always appreciated it. It was a nice way to be entertained while taking a 45 minute break from walking around Epcot all day. If you were looking for the most mind blowing or exciting attraction, then sure, you'd be disappointed. But it was never meant to be that. It was an entertaining, learning experience that could also offer visitors a much needed break.

Yeah but it was out dated and boring and they needed to get rid of it for a more popular attraction
Seeing this ride again brings back so many great memories. I was fortunate enough to grow up going to Disney World often, as I only lived an hour or 2 away. I used to love this ride so much. I'm sad to see it go, but I am forever thankful that this ride and many others like it will be preserved on KZread

@@ciaridah I am too glad I managed to ride this attraction many times. I rode on it in it's final days of existence, a ride I won't forget. I went on with a good childhood friend, who was enjoying his first time at EPCOT. I was gleefully pointing out things as the ride went around. I was motioning towards an Animatronic Dinosaur I thought he might find interesting; just as I did, said Dinosaur sprayed me straight in the eyes with rancid, rusty, acidic water which smelt and tasted like sulphur. I was not only blinded for the rest of the ride but largely for the rest of my vacation/youth. It this sort of life altering experience you simply don't get at Epcot anymore.

I remember going on this ride in 1999. I was 3 and a half and a lot of the memory is blur between this and being forced onto riding Maelstrom by my Half-Danish Grandma. Now my first Epcot trip is gone lmao 😂
I was on this in 1989 as a 4yo - I was searching for this ride online to understand what I saw back then :D I remembered all my life that I was sitting in a cinema, when suddenly our seats were moving. Maybe Walt's idea with EPCOT to "inspire people" worked, at least I became a quite "out of the box" person and maybe it is because of early impressions like that. Hope kids today can still be fascinated as well.

the part with the dinosaurs reminds me of the number in the original 'Fantasia', 'the Rite of Spring' by Igor Stravinsky.
I remember the version of UOE where it talks about "and it rained.. and rained.. and rained..." or something to that effect at the pre-ride movie. I was a kid but it was far more inspiring then this. Sad to hear of its loss. So many great rides at Epcot gone now, so much inspiration to many children. Horizons, World of Motion.. :(

My husband and I went on this ride in about 2008/2009 and loved it. Years later we still talk about it and we spent ages trying to find out what the ride was and where. By pure chance tonight I have found this video! For years I always thought I must have dreamed it all. What a shame it has gone and to be replaced by another terrifying rollercoaster. Disney is getting less family friendly by the minute as not every ride needs to be white knuckle but that’s the direction it seems to be going in.
I loved Ellen’s look out for the dinosaur lol

Childhood memoriesu unlocked❤
Guardians is such a better ride 😂
This is the one thing I massively regretted about my trip to Disney World, wasting 50 minutes of my life on this. You could turn this into a 45 minute Cinema movie and virtually nothing would change, there is literally 1 scene with real set pieces which is the carts tracking across some dinosaurs, and then it’s back to the movie. And it’s SO FREAKING LONG AAAAAAAAA. Funnily enough I quite enjoyed that circle of life boat ride they had, which was largely similar in feeling, but atleast that one has some actual things to look at even if it were mostly plants, as well as not being nearly as long.
I remember going on this ride
Last time I was on this ride was Spring Break 2016.
The air conditioning and jacuzzi period 🤣🤣🤣
I go to Disney World at least once a year. As I am a children book writer/ illustrator, and a visual artist it is great for generating ideas. I lived this one and I’m sad that it is gone. If you ask me they are ruining Epcot. Either way those dinosaurs were out of date. Also they featured reptiles that weren’t even dinosaurs. They weren’t even from the Mesozoic era.
