Seeing it with the queue, there's so much setup with zero payoff. You're zigzagging in and out of a salt mine and bayou, there's dynamite on site, all this setup like a sequel set years after the original movie, and the ride itself is just all these feel-good musical numbers with no bite to any of it. Like if someone pitched this as the plot for an actual movie, they'd be told to go home and rewrite it because there's no real story. Clearly there's a more thrilling story that wanted to be told, the clues are there, but some exec came in and said that the only parts of the ride that could be scary were the big drops themselves. Pure speculation, obviously, but that's the only thing that makes sense to me. Visually the ride looks amazing, the music score in and out of the queue is fantastic, and they actually gave us real, upgraded animatronics instead of a bunch of screens and those creepy animatronics with the backlit projector faces! But oi vey the ride story is so dull they might as well have just built a generic dark ride in Fantasyland and called it a day. A note to all those future imagineers out there: if you're building a themed thrill ride relying on the mechanics on the ride to bring all the thrills, you're doing something wrong.

The removal of splash erased real back stories from the parks. If anything the removal of splash was racist. Tiana is a story written by white people of a reskin of a white story. Yuck.

Like so many have said, video cannot capture the emotions. To be nose to nose with Atlantis is incredible. And the fact that she still carries her battle scars and burns is amazing still.
It looks great except for one thing. The build up to the big splash. That part should be Dr. Facilier and his friends coming back to sing “Friends on the Other Side”. I know this is supposed to be set after the movie but the way it is now feels anticlimactic. Everyone sees how Friends on the Other Side would make the build up to the big splash more exciting, especially the “are you ready??” part. What idiot at Disney told them NOT to do that??
Facilier was never planned to be part of the ride at the start.
@@danshull1331 That's because according to DisneyDan on X, Disney apparently has a mandate that prohibits anything that's tied to religion. Which means voodoo is considered a religious practice, even though it's an evil one. But this is just a rumor, so take it with a grain of salt. Also, if it's true, then that's a ridiculous reason because religion is all of a sudden considered "offensive" now or something. 🤦♀

This ride is OK
Another Disney downgrade. Such a disappointment and dull story. Tiana deserved better. Fans deserved better.
Tiana’s Foods is the worst representation they could ever had possibly brung to the park, mostly because the Br’ers were the best African American presence there, while Tiana just barely is.

Bar none. And the number of Disney+ subscribers just keeps growing as Disney is now the second largest streamer by number of subscribers, just behind Netflix. D23 this year sold out faster than ever by a huge margin despite expanding to the Honda Center.

The only memorable song from this shitshow is “gonna take you there” which was one of the only songs not written for the ride. So stoopid too because the film is full of earworms and the ride doesn’t make use of them. This is what happens when Disney think they’re better than the original team that created the classics. One thing splash did so well was pull directly from the source material, this one is stark opposite
