Can I just say, you should receive some type of award, commendation, or accolade for the amazing work and blog you have put out concerning Universal's Epic Universe. Thank you so much for all the hard work and time you have put in for us to have these absolutely outstanding programs keeping us informed and excited on this upcoming theme park! As much as I loooooved using Starfall in elementary school over twenty years ago, hearing them potentially suing universal over a single word usage really makes me roll my eyes.

Not at the point in the video yet. But Screamscape is thinking this is a way for Starfall to say that "hey we're protecting our brand" because supposedly if you're not keeping up with your trademarks/copyrights you could lose it.

It will be interesting as it does not appear that Starfall has prevented or challenged the use in dozens of books, some of which would have almost identical audiences. Why the now for potential use if they had not pursued actual use over the past decade?

Actually, I wouldn't be too mindboggled. This is what sub contractors and sub sub contractors are for. The whole project was likely "reverse-planned" with all organizational phases planned out in an isolated manner and well in advance, based on blueprints and scope projections. Such as the different lands. Those separate construction teams have little to do with one another and can focus on their own area, landscaping and rides.

​@@OrlandoParksRover In my country I love that all the security beacons, street signs (esp. speed limits), and whatnot are placed by one squad, weeks (or months) later another squad or more arrive for construction, and when all of them are done and gone it takes another few weeks (or months) before a squad arrives to retreive the beacons and signs.

That's the part that amazes/astounds me. When you compare what Disney has accomplished vs. what Universal has accomplished in the same time frame (and both had to deal with covid closures/delays), it's not even close. Universal has almost completely built a third gate and the domestic Disney parks have done very little by comparison. (I know Disney has been doing big things with their overseas parks).

I'm addicted to watching the construction of this park, it's amazing. Thanks for the info and updates.

So Glad Universal is now honoring not one huge but kinetic fountains all over which Disney let go from their Epcot concept art and removing the one fountain they already had.

I’ll never forget watching this park being built piece by piece it has been a truly mind blowing experience every time. We’re witnessing history

Given the amount of visual information we have on this park the time lapsed will be amazing.

Honestly that shot of the coaters meeting at 1:23 was beautiful to see, it bring back so much nostalgia from Duelling Dragons.

I would have preferred ‘Starlight Racers’ be the backup name. Hopefully it doesn’t need one!

Progress on this theme park is coming along beautifully. I bet the people at Universal are itching for guests to take their first steps into this universe when it opens up next year.

I love that most of the extended queue areas are either covered or surrounded by trees. It’s one of the worst things for me having to queue in the blazing Florida sunshine with no cover.

Love these vids. Reminds me of when I was a kid looking up construction pics of Islands of Adventure being built. Once again, I'm most hyped for the dual coaster.

My family and I live in Maine plan on going to Universal in October 2025 to celebrate Halloween (Samhain) and the start of the long, cold, dark of Winter.. We are all so excited for Epic Universe and all the lands. It looks like Universal spared no expense and are doing things right. Thank you for all the amazing updates as it keeps us involved and makes going that much more exciting.

Don't expect Epic to be open by then and if it is, it will be insanely crowded in its first month with a lot of breakdowns. Better to wait for the deals that will come in month three when Universal expects steep attendance declines and is already prepping deals because surveys indicate there is far less interest in the park than they hoped.

I guessed the lawsuit! I used StarFall growing up and literally rolled on the floor when they were brought up. That's where my brain immediately went when I heard the title of the video that is so funny. Also it kinda makes sense because I immediately thought of them when I first heard the name of Starfall Racers.

Never heard of the company. I mean, I could see if they were like a mini family fun center, they may have a case, but if I start up a shoe company and call ONE of my shoe designs Amazon, Amazon, the mega corporation, shouldn’t be able to successfully sue me and win, as I don’t have a website with Amazon in the name. And Amazon as a name is literally a place in South America, so it’s not something completely unique like Coca Cola or Pepsi, which actually are registered trademarks. “Starfall” is like “waterfall” in that you really can’t copyright a word people already use. It’s like when Coca Cola tried to copyright the word “coke,” but couldn’t because by the time they tried, most of the south use that as a general term for soda. 7up is a type of “coke.”

What I already love most about this park is the amazing kinetic energy it will create

I was thinking the lawsuit was related to Darkmoor, as a game called Wizard101 has an area with the same name, setting, similar set pieces, and some of the same monsters within this area.

I can just say I am extremely exited for this park and your updates make it all the more better!

They are planning on Pokémon (replacing Springfield) and Zelda (replacing lost continent)

Got really excited watching this one. I'm glad that one of the two major theme park players in the US is actually doing something new, and it seems to me that Universal actually knows what people want to see (other than the continuous deluge of minion content), unlike Disney, who seem to be making continuous misses lately.

You would think the company that is making a stink over the name would want Universal to use the name, if they thought about it Epic Universe and this new roller coaster will get a lot of attention & press. Having a name very similar would possibly lead people to their site & provide more people with info on their company, but hey if they don’t want free advertising due to names being very close go right on and insist Universal change the name & they will to them it doesn’t make a huge difference, I think the other business needs to rethink the way they are of looking at this. I don't agree that Starfall Education should have a copyright or trademark on the name. But if they win, then Disney will try to claim they own the name Stardust because they mention Project Stardust in the movie Rogue One, which refers to the construction of the Death Star . I like the name Fireball Racers but then the Jerry Lee Lewis estate will sue for copyright right infringement. Why don't they just call the ride Celestial Racers and then everybody's happy? ☺️

While mentioned in the film, I don’t believe Disney holds a trademark for the term. And Universal only applied for Stardust Racers in the category of roller coaster, so only word marks within roller coaster category could be affected.

One commentator already mentioned the Starfall Online video game. The game has a Wikipedia entry that states it was released in 2014. A judge may ask if SEF filed a cease-and-desist order against Starfall Online to stop the use of the name. They may have. If not, Universal could have a good argument against SEF. I think a possible argument in favor of SEF would be the color scheme of Starfall Racers tracks are similar to the pastel colors used on SEF's website and literature. I don't think the pastel colored tracks match the rest of the solid bright colors of the rest of the park's lands and attractions. I think it would be amazing to paint both tracks black so at night it could give the illusion of flying through space, sort of like Space Mountain. But I'm no Steven Spielberg and am sure Universal knows what it's doing. I'm just a former Disney Adult who is all in as a new Universal Adult. I'm excited to see what they have planned for EU Phase Two. I predict they will add three new lands for Phase Two to reflect our solar system made up of eight planets and add those three land's medallions to the Kronos Tower.

I'm gonna be in debt for years over it, but I'm gonna do a week out there in '26 and hopefully stay in the Helios Grand at least for a single night...

DCA - Makes a giant hubcap to represent the sun and then tears it down because it's lame. Epic - Makes a beautiful glowing sun icon to sit atop the hotel which will be visible throughout the entire park.

I think Universal can rename Starfall racers into Stardust racers

Could change "Starfall" to; comet, meteor, shooting star, etc. If it's that big of an issue.
