Unity in the Body of Christ: Francis Chan, Andrew Byrd, Mike Bicke, Isaac Bennett

“The Holy Spirit testifies in every city…” (Acts 20:23)
In Acts 20:16, Paul said that the Holy Spirit testifies in every city that difficulties awaited him in Jerusalem. What that means is that whenever He travelled to minister from one city to another, the believers in every city he travelled to, had a sense from the Lord in their hearts by the Holy Spirit, that he will face difficulties in Jerusalem.
The Scriptures teach about the witness of the Holy Spirit to our spirits,
“The Spirit himself bears witness with our spirit..” (Romans 8:16).
Many believers across the USA and beyond, share a witness of the Holy Spirit that the Lord is stirring His body to pursue unity. That all born again believers are one body and one family.
This video is a rich panel discussion between believers from different streams in the body of Christ.
It took place last Sunday 7/4/2021 at the International House of Prayer in KC.
Some of what is in this video:
* How Francis Chan was initially jaded, had a negative opinion about a certain segment of the body of Christ because of what he was taught in seminary.
* How his experience interacting with that segment of the body of Christ that he was initially against led him to re-examine some of the things he was taught.
* How even as we decry “cancel culture” in the world that writes off people who hold certain political or social views, we at times practice “cancel culture” in the body of Christ, writing off brothers and sisters in Christ who may have secondary differences with us or who may do things differently than we do.
* How humility is a prerequisite to the pursuit of unity. The Spirit of Christ is Phillipians 2:3, the opposite of which is pride.
* Why did Francis Chan write the book “Crazy Love”.
* How our pursuit of unity should not be at the expense of compromising the truth declared word of God.
