Well no. The UN was responsible for creating the UNSC through the United Nations Security Council as a means to combat early colonial rebellion in the solar system before the thought of having a planetary government. The UEG came after the formation of the UNSC & after the interplanetary wars through a different party, not the UN. UN isn't responsible for the creation of the UEG.

Yeah. It’s an interesting idea but very unlikely. Unless the neo fascist and communist groups were trying to separate from earth, which was probably depending on mars and the moon for non earth resources and a place for the overpopulated earth to send people. I can see that being enough for the UN to gain power. For the UN to take over it would require some major existential threat to earth or it’s way of life thar couldn’t be solved by a nation or three.

Cole did managed to stave off the Covenant offensive for longer and longer as, even with great costs to his forces, he managed to gain the UNSC great victories. Furthermore, Jacob Keyes managed to show that even a single destroyer is capable of fighting a small Covenant invasion force to a standstill using superior tactics.

But If you pay atention to the recent lore, you can noticed that there are some suspicios corporations, with the power to have their own weapons (some variants of human weapons in halo 5 were made by some of this suspicios organizations) and even have capacity to have their own Spartans (there is an spartan armour that was unknown even by the ONI created by one of this corporations), I think that someone wanted to start a new armed uprising, but It was interrumped by the AI´s rebellion ("Cortana" and her new IA buddies)

JCDenton 2012 Not lucky. As the Librarian said in Halo 4, everything was planned from before the Forerunners fired the Halo Array. I'm not sure if the Covenant was intentional or an unlucky coincidence, but we still pulled through. People often overlook just how depleted and damaged the Covenant was in the final days of the war. All it needed was a push and it would all come crashing down.

We could win any fights in space, and ground fighters were still in favor of the covenant due to their diverse military. The only reason humanity survived is because the covenant fell apart.

@@Azakadune Humanity generally held their own in ground combat, but once the covenant got done mopping up the unsc navy it was all over for the ground game. But youre right, humanity only survived because of the Great Schism dividing the Covenant. Ironically though there were many who wondered why humans hadnt been offered a place in the covenant, since they had proved their tenacity again and again. It all goes back to the prophets and their false religion - they couldnt admit humans to the covenant because they knew they were the reclaimers. And that would have destroyed their religion and the Prophets hold on power. A massive war of extermination for political power. Halo is a great universe precisely because the themes they touch on, like this one, are so damn timeless and relevant and relatable.

Halo is a massive universe. It is unique because it takes place in the future, yet it feels like it is taking place now. The novels, the games, the videos, and other forms of media give Halo a feeling to others unlike any other science fiction epic. Halo feels real. It feels like events taking place 500 years in the future have already occured in our world over a decade ago. It is a journey, a painful lesson, a test of our minds and bodies. Pushing our thoughts beyond the borders of our own reality. Halo does all this. And I am glad that I took part in this world. Halo isn't just a game series. It's a huge alternate reality that we visit over and over again. Halo is life. Halo...is home.

I'm really close to crying because of how good these guys are with my favorite faction.

This channel is disturbingly good. The only problem is that you do such a good and thorough job, that you can't put out an episode as often as I would wish! (Also, since you are so wide-ranging in what fictions you address, that it might be years before I see all the factions from the universes that I care about)

As a massive Halo lore nerd I expected this to disappoint, but this was an extremely well researched and well made video! That's a sub from me

I believe that the NCR is a good choice for the next video.

@@Candystormm if the brotherhood actually used their technology to build a modern state, recruit people into their ranks and use the 3 DAMN GECKS THEY HAVE IN STORAGE, they would be the best faction in the fallout universe. That is not the case however and the two best post-war factions that are doing well for themselves is the shi and the NCR, before anyone mentions house, the guy is literally just running a business empire and only slightly manages affairs on the strip, outside that he does fuck all in leadership.

Currently, the United Nations can't even handle North Korea let alone an alien invasion..

lemonny3663 11 North Korea is guaranteed by Russia and China. You can't neutralize their threat with their powerful and obstinate backing, especially now that democracies are so fracticious. You can only engage in a systematic prevention of development method, whereby embargoes and espionage isolate the country, stunting its growth and ability to function, effectively using a Modern Era version of a medieval siege. However Medieval sieges were not as successful as you may think. Basically its not a foolproof plan of action but it is the best the UN has right now.

Thanks for the video. The HALO franchise, by far, has the most in-depth and somewhat most interesting universe, in sci-fi history, dwarfed mostly by the largest and most obvious (Stargate/Star-Trek/Star-wars/Dr.Who)

*coughs* Most destructive war in Galactic History? I think two other wars in the Halo Universe would massively out due the UNSC/Covenant War; The Forerunner/Ancient Humanity war, which lasted for hundreds of years alone, and the Forerunner/Flood conflict, which had the Forerunners touch off novae, and routinely lose fleets of millions of ships in doomed attempt to stop the flood... and ended with the Forerunners killing everything sentient in the entire galaxy when they set off the Halo Array. Compared to those wars, amongst being who are damned close to being gods, Humanity and the Covenant fighting each other looks like a playground fight.

The UNSC emblems were probably our most requested, I really regret not including them in our flag video. However, I think I would have disappointed a lot of people, the original UNSC emblem gets a solid "meh" from me and the newer version is atrocious. Maybe we'll do a special follow-up video where I can go more in depth about it.

I like that once the war was over they went back to just being the military, rewarding the trust placed in them. Also as I recall in "the fall of reach'" the halcyon-class is a heavy cruiser, the lightest class in fact to carry the heavy cruiser designation.

This channel’s really fantastic! The videos are all extremely well put-together, have impressive & well-synched video, and the music always brings it all right together!👍🏻 I also like the different scripts passing by in the intros; Cyrillic in the Yuktobanian one made me happy!😀

A small note, but the Navy was also actually responsible for aquatic combat too. Ground-based forces on several planets were able to call in help from "wet" vessels and their guns. The Wombat drones in ODST were launched from aircraft carriers in the waters around Madagascar for the most par, for example.

I like your content and you keep me interested in these worlds and realities.

Two notes: first, the Spartan branch also includes numbers of the Spartan 2 super soldier program. Second, the most destructive conflict in MODERN Galactic history. When you factor in the forerunner ancient human war and the Forerunner flood war from the expanded lore the human covenant war is nowhere near the most destructive conflict in galactic history.
