They have done a lot worse. Killed way more civilians per terrorists, and did not fight a terror organization with a complete infrastructure of underground tunnels, and I not even talking about what they did to Hiroshima, Nagasaki and Tokyo, or what the British did in Hamburg or Drezden.

Hamas is also *the* elected, and broadly supported, government of Gaza. The calls for aid and ceasefire are bolstering Hamas, prolonging the war, and causing more people to suffer. If people really cared about Palestinians why aren't they calling for Hamas to surrender? Why aren't they calling on Egypt to open its border to refugees? Why are they chanting "free Palestine" and "from the river to the sea"? Those actions aren't consistent with real care for Palestinian lives and well being.

Elections have consequences. Elections in an uneducated or brainwashed society have bad consequences.

People/organizations are not calling out Hamas because they know that it is simply pointless. Hamas cannot be reasoned with, they exhibit a total lack of morality, human life has no value to them and they are totally uninterested in the West's opinions or objectives. Israel, by contrast, is a deeply moral and humanistic state that values it's standing among nations, so the belief is that the West can tell it what to do. Thus, when the West is full of hypocritical (and frequently antisemitic) crybabies who ignore what war actually entails, it creates all sorts of noise and discord. Israel needs to ignore everybody else and do what needs to be done. Finish the job, and support will gradually come back after some other items take over the news cycle.

The bullying of Israel goes on. The Israeli officers are being punished for an understandable mistake when protecting shipments from Hamas hijackings. And who in his right mind sends his civilian employees into this war zone and fails to maintain proper contact with the IDF?

Hamas can also create a zone where they won't operate, as a humanitarian zone... But Hamas uses those areas for his military activity, and doesn't wear uniforms, while hiding behind them.

Such a revolting interviewer, trying to put words in his mouth. The incident was not investigated by "themselves", but by an external review led by a retired General who is highly esteemed. Not only was the officer who gave the order dismissed, but his superior, and more were reprimanded, including the top commander of Israel's South - because it's hierarchical, and they bear the responsibility even indirectly. Now, for the incident itself: it appears that there were several factors at play: a last minute change of the convoy - the vehicles that joined the truck, the proximity of identified terrorists (believed to have taken control of one of the vehicles at least), sudden loss of connection with the aid group, and the context - at nigh, IDF used to Hamas taking over aid trucks. It's a tragic, terrible accident, but could happen anywhere. The officers were disciplined because despite all the above, it was still against regulations to fire, because there was not immediate threat. Sadly, the longer the exposure of soldiers to battle, the greater the fatigue and more prevalent is the "not taking any chances". That's why chances of such horror happening again naturally increase. I fear that due to the immense biased pressure on the IDF, wishing to avoid such incidents might come at the expense of its soldiers.

They have a different naming for them in Hebrew, but the rank system was copied from US. Sergeant rank (Rasal) is given to people who serve over 5 years, staff sergeant (Rasar) for those who serve over 8 years.

Even if Israel succeeds in all of its objectives, dismantling Hamas, it doesn't solve the broader problem that faces the country which is that its prosecution of this war has galvanized and radicalized even more people to Hamas' cause than before Oct 7. Hamas' recruitment numbers have skyrocketed and Its winning the PR war against Israel because of the Israeli government's demonstrated neglect for the lives of innocent people. This will plague Israel's legacy for generations and may even prevent a normalization with Riyahd. To imagine any kind of sustained peace can result from the current conflict is lunacy.
