They do the same they just don’t show it on camera, when you have that many children you have to put those systems in place so mom can do the housework, cooking cleaning etc that is not able to be done by the kids and dad can work to support the family.

I LOVE the Bates family!!! They all seem genuinely true to themselves & their beliefs!!

I noticed them too.. So that's how they met lol.. You know when they say we knew each other for years and you think yes right well there ya go lol.. The way the show is filmed you'll think they only had each other and no friends but we get to see that isn't the case. Wish tlc will show this side if the duggars more.. ppl wouldn't think they're aliens or over protective freaks

Her husband is the sweetest man! Always talking so nice of his wife as if they just met yesterday! Where do you find a guy like that??? I think she took the last one! lol

Just love watching the bates the family are more fun to watch than the duggars the bates family home is more welcoming and both the mum and dad help their children out not order them about and control them even the ones that are married bates family are such aloving family

I loved watching this. So neat to look back on the children when they were younger. I have watched EVERY episode since the beginning. Love the Bates family!!

David Waller 16:30.. So theres Erin's husband Cgad at 13:42, Joy Anna's husband Austin at 13:53, and Pricilla's (Anna Duggar's sister) husband David at 16:30. Looks like alot of people find their mates at the IBLP compound.

I saw Chad and David the first time through then went back to find Austin. Lol. He is playing with a toddler. I think Jeb or Jud. Too bad Warden hasn't found a girl at family camp.

I’m just happy all their kids seem pretty well rounded and their names start with different letters. Also, the mom doesn’t seem fake.

This is better than keeping up with the kardashians 😂

Even with that many kids, they should have been packing and getting ready days ahead.

Watching this episode after all these years you recognize the other people in the crowds and it’s amazing. It was wonderful watching this episode again.

The Bates' mom is an educated woman who believes in education and exploring your options for boys and girls. It seems like the Duggar kids are only educated because it's the law. The girl's aren't encouraged to branch out but to only get married and have babies. Jim Bob would marry them off at 12 if he could. The Bates' dad get sick every time the girls mention a boyfriend.

I think this family is a lot more natural than their friends. The duggars seem too rehearsed. And sweeter.

The girls are indoors teaching/doing homemaking classes, but the boys get to “repel and do cool things that guys like to do”. Uh, girls like climbing and repelling , too, and it’s ok for them to. I started learning rock climbing at 51 (5 years ago) and it is AMAZING. Being a Christian woman does not mean not staying indoors doing homemaking things. We raised 3 daughters who all love being active in the outdoors. Gothard, IBLP, and ATI are a CULT.

Mrs. Bates ( Kelly-Jo ) is such a sweet mom.❤️

Home school conference. It is the IBLP Conference. They are sugar coating it. It's funny that the Duggars called it the same thing. That must have been TLC's request.

AS I was watching this and the Duggar came. On and it got me wondering what did the Bates think about everything the Duggar son did and how Jim bob handly everything

I wish I could have grown up in a family like the Bates or the Duggars! My brother and sister always fought with me and we never got along growing up. Sibling rivalry! This conference looks so fun and I would have loved being in the alert boys when I was a kid!

You'd want to be in a family where your older brother SAs and victimizes you and your parents do NOTHING about it? Your parents are more concerned about covering it up and making sure their predatory son's reputation isn't harmed and that he's still viewed as special and as a real catch among the cult? You want to live in a family where it's your job to diaper, feed, dress, educate, discipline, comfort, cuddle, etc., the endless babies your mom pops out every other year? A family where you can never be anything but sweet and happy. Any curiosity or independence is beat out of you. A family where you're denied a real education and instead by the time your about 13 you're tasked with teaching your younger siblings the wacky curriculum your parents taught (think the Earth is 6,000 years old, nothing but basic math, humans ran around with dinosaurs). I could go on but please don't look at the Duggars or Bates as a fun wholesome family. The Dugars are worse but both families are awful. Look into it.

I know…I’m an only child and an only grandchild. My Mom was an only child and my Dad was the baby. I was born to be mental…lol!! When my Grandma died her obituary had an error that her sister in law showed my Mom. It said “survived by 1 daughter (with my Mothers name and info) and 19 grandchildren”. My Mom just said, “ well, she probably felt like she had 19..”. LOL!

you are romanticising an idea thats fake. there is a lot of sibling rivalry withing both of these families. it's very plain to see on their social media. the kids also have come forward woth experiences where they fought for years with their siblings. jessa and Jana from the duggars are a major one.

So I like the bates more than the Duggars because of there dating standers, they are allowed to front hug before marriage. And there no so weird with cringe side hugs.

Great family. People who enjoy them should show respect by not putting down their friends, the Duggars. Being Christian, or of religious faith, doesn't mean we are without fault. In fact Christians admit we have fault. Not everyone wants to air their dirty laundry and most parent on this earth will go above and beyond to protect their children. Can't blame the entire family for what went on.

Hispanic families tend to have pretty large families too but sheesh my Hispanic family is not even this many lol my family is 13 kids altogether wow I don't know what my mom would do with that many kids but it's really not that hard when parents really just have to watch over the little kids the older kids in my family watch themselves and also help out with the younger kids

Hi bates

This Bates family seems more relatable and down to earth then the Duggars . The children seem to contribute help freely and dad is involved more. Plus they make mistakes, they run late and show how exhausted they are. Duggars always seem robotic. I always felt we were seeing an image rather then a family and both of the Duggars had a smug superior attitude. ( keeping the kids away from our evil outside world) Problem was, evil existed in the home. Knowing what we do now, that the girls were afraid to tell their parents of being abused by their brother, maybe she should have spent more time with the children then having more A child needs one on one past being weened, and a sibling does not have the means to provide it. Plus the child did not choose to raise a child (Buddy my butt, they are unpaid babysitters) I think children are a gift and its a very personal choice of creating a family. Just think you should be able to provide for them emotionally.

This must be about 10 years ago as little Josie Duggar is so tiny!
