For some child this doll was told by them “I love you”, whispered secrets were told, many a party was attended by the doll, you have restored a cherished toy and dreams of a child that has grown old. Thank you for the care and compassion you have shown the viewers, I wish you were close so I could send my mothers doll to you. ❤

What a wonderful thing to watch! She reused everything and made the rest from scratch on an antique Singer. Even made her tiny shoes and wig! That is one of the best if not the best restorations ever!Irene is so talented. That poor doll was a total wreck and became beautiful!

@@Astara_star I’ve seen a lot of doll restoration and she is the best IMO, so meticulous. She can take a wrecked doll and make it beautiful. If you have never seen Ladonna Briggs, check her out. She is great too. She really brings old carnival dolls to life, also reborns.Both are a joy to watch!

my gosh, she looks amazing, now -- like new! 100 years old, and she looks as new as the day she was made. i can imagine the delight and love on the face of her first owner, all those years ago. i really like how you show what goes into making the paper clay and everything -- the mix of old techniques and materials with new ones. so cool

The historical knowledge of dollmaking; the large number of skills with different materials; aesthetic judgment; finally, the superb manual dexterity required to work with tiny objects! I am humbled by these many talents.! Bravo, Irene! On a personal note: I shed tears many times during the second half of this, when the memories of my grandmother came flooding in, especially her repair of a big doll of mine, about this little girl's size, when its arm had fallen off. I loved my grandma so much, she had clever, artistic hands and a sense of humor. When she handed the doll back to the 5-year-old me, she began to giggle. I asked what was funny. Then I noticed the doll's arm was a bit crooked, sort of flopped over to the side. We both laughed. I didn't care, I loved it anyway and wouldn't let her correct it. I still have that doll - and many others that she had bought me over the years. Her name was Alice. I am 75 years old and I still miss her so.💕

I had the same grandmother. She would take the time to teach me many things and was never without patience. Fond memories are of her letting me help make fruit cake at Christmas for gifts. As well as how to shuffle cards and play Rook. She was full of little ideas that she taught a 5 year old and kept her entertained. I am 61 and she left us when I was 13. But when I speak of her to people who knew her, they remember the good kind woman that I do as well. It wasn’t just a grand daughters love that recalls a good person. She is one that I look forward to seeing again one day. I still miss her. I understand your love for your grandmother. We were both blessed to have had such a woman in our lives. ✌🏻🤍

I'm glad Anastasia got another lease on life. She's so sweet! Excellent work on the restoration.

My grandma had a similar doll! It was made out of porcelain (hands, feet and head+chest) and a stuffed body with eyes that closed when you laid it down. We were allowed to play with it and after we outgrew dolls, she had it cleaned, restored and repainted. When we played with it, the skin was painted in a light pink and the face was painted to look realistic. After the restoration, it is now white and glazed, with a very delicately painted face and small red lips. It reminds me of one of those geisha dolls 😊 it truly became a piece of art after all these years of playing. No matter if it's to restore something to it's former self, or to repurpose it for a new use, the work restorers do is amazing! We need more people like you who show us that items still have life in it, even if they look disheveled and broken. Stuff gets thrown out way too easily these days!

I have never seen anything like this, with such respect and honor to the past and to the people who loved and cherished this doll all these years. What a wonderful service you are doing, to the memory of them and to this doll!

I'm glad you enjoyed it, but this is the second time I've heard of a beautiful doll described as creepy. I have a very pretty restored doll that I sent a picture of to someone who also described it as creepy. A very disappointing response since I'd hoped the first thing noticed would have been the excellent work done by the restorer, or how pretty she was. Is this due to watching horror movies?

Your dedication and skill in authentic restoration of these dear old dolls is giving me an appreciation and love for them... My journey in loving dolls, and collecting them is surprising me. I am so curious as to how you learned this skill set. I am just cleaning up some 40-50 year old dolls, created during my lifetime, and it is so satisfying to give them care and attention. But the work you do is bringing life to dolls from the previous century. Dolls my grandmother might have played with as a child. Truly amazing and historical work. I love the way you store and prepare your mixtures. I worked for an old pharmacist many years ago and this reminded me of him and his knowledge and love of all things phamacia. He was a wonderful man to work for. He has passed...as have my grandmother and parents. Farewell to a great generation. This Anastasia is beautiful! So much character from a time too soon forgotten by today's populations. And now I am looking at old dolls on ebay and wondering...

Watching you work feels so relaxing, you put so much time and work into both the dolls and videos, your aesthetic really feels like those old fashion (in positive way) doll makers! Really love your content.

My son even as a child used to handle his toys so gently. As he grew up it was a matter of joy to watch how lovingly n caringly he touched appliances, car, 2 wheeler, tv, mobile just about any object... as if a rough action would put them into pain. This video reminds me about his gentleness and sensitivity. This artist has done a commendable job... What a miraculous transformation !!!! 👏👏👏👏👏❤❤❤❤
