Marak is great, drop his faith as low as possible,raise his brave to as high as possible, make him a Geomancer (geomancy is a non faith based magic. Also range of 8). Give him dual wield with 2 Ancient swords. And boost his pa and ma as much as possible. Give him the monk skill as secondary, you got what i consider "der Hexenhammer" ( the witch hammer). The perfect "mage" anti-mage. He hits with geomancy at range ( low damage and low chance at status effect). Spells just bounce off of him. And he is dual wielding 2 good weapons ( he attacks twice). He is almost immune to magic while being able to get in close to kill enemy mages with ease, and still be a threat to physical classes. Also can heal and revive.

Minutes before I saw this post I intuitively built a Geo Malak. Dual rune blades are genius! I didn't think of that and I'm glad to see this very relevant community post 😊

Rapha is my preferred Arithmeticks user for majority of the midgame because Reis takes too long. If Faith is ever an issue, then she falls back on her Sky Mantras. She's backup White Magic if I decide not to run Arithmeticks because of Ribbon access. I pump her brave up as soon as I get her. I honestly have never found a good use for Marach until late game, when I equip him with a Rod of Faith. But by then he's basically a clone of his sister (Arithmeticks or any other secondary). I'd try Iaido on him, but usually my Agrias is already running that and I hate doubling up on non-passive abilities XD

Nice builds for Rapha with the traditional casting route. If you're playing WotL maybe try Dark Knight with Marach to take advantage of his low faith? 🤔

I just used a bard to buff their magic with magical refrain. These classes define win more as the game gets way easier when you get them (similar to Agrias if you didn’t save scum divine ruination, and Mustadio who misses a lot, which chapter 2 you should have samurai or ninja that are way better, especially with arcane strength and equip swords/double rend). Shame AI is so bad not to target Elmdor in the center panel for that Chapter 3 speed blitz finale, so she will miss more often. Surprisingly, Lucavi have high faith, so Marach is worse, but I did see the fell swords comment for his low faith, with orator lowering more (like how they buff brave or you have Ramza/luso monk shout).

I used my PSP to backup my UMD to my PC - I actually learned how to do it right here on KZread, but I don't have a link ready to go unfortunately. It's a little bit of a process, but well worth it since you can then make copies of the backup and apply various mods or patches to experience all new ways to play a classic - including the multiplayer PVP Mod from tacticsleague.com, which I am very partial to!
