It is not necessary to have the best equipment to do good work... But I would be lying if I said that I wouldn't like to have the best tools, they make everything easier.
Marmota is not in this business for simple builds, I love his craft for it. Super talented.

There really is a lot of quilt patterns that can might translate well into a table. Log cabin could be a good scrap wood project, though you probably want to reinforce it from the bottom just in case. Drunkards path could be really cool.

You have crafted a beautiful table from old wooden beams. Wood is my favourite material for furniture and I enjoyed watching your work. Such a piece could be made into a headboard for a bed. That would be a very unique bed indeed!

This is the type of project I would aspire to if I had access to the workshop and tools, although I would run into impatience with all the cutting and sanding roughly five blocks in 😂 The finished table is beautiful - great choice on the natural finish and the steel legs too. Might have a little daydream and imagine that in my home. ☺

Nice work i like to learn more of it
I like it. I've been thinking about how you could make it efficiently using a CNC. The best way I can think is to cut the blocks off. Then to screw them into a plank of wood with two screws. The bottom will be the bottom. Now you can put that on the CNC, and hold the plank down. Now you can shape the sides, and get all top sides flat and to the same thickness. Repeat until you have the required number of blocks.

I don't think this is the best project to do with a CNC machine.

Check out "Penrose Tilling". There's a shortish article on Wikipedia. Some of those tilings, coupled with your end grain slices, plus epoxy could be very beautiful. The English woodworkers used to Oyster Veneer, with similar effects. But for some of these patterns, CNC cutting of the shape strikes me as a good choice. I've another question. Stength. I notice in one of your projects you re-inforced underneath with steel. What was your decision process on that? Were you assuming wood was weaker that epoxy, or the boundary? How many pieces can you have before you need to reinforce? @@marmotaworks
