I’m 11, and i started when i was 9. In my school, a boy’s grandma started a knitting club. There were free hooks and needles. She taught me how to crochet, and since then, i’ve never stopped. I’ve basically become one of the helpers, teaching people how to crochet. It’s become my personality now too 😂. But it’s my last year at this school, so I’m going to miss her… :(

im a few years older and i also learned crochet. i now sell my crochet in school for extremely cheap ($2 for smth that took 11+ hours) and yet people find it expensive LOL-

I'm also happy to see a new generation fall in love with crochet! I learned when I was 10, so it's been over 50 years and it still brings me so much joy. It's also calms the mind. Great therapy too.

My Grandmom introduced me to crochet when I was about 7 it’s been a fun and creative journey 😊

i love how creative you can get with just a hook and yarn; the possibilities are endless!

I don't think it's a "Granny Hobby" at all. I consider it a generational art that will never lose its thousands of uses and is such a beautiful thing. My mom was an avid crocheter and when she passed I was so sad I didn't get to learn all the stitches and techniques from her. Learning how to crochet as an adult and finding amazing tutorials on KZread has helped me not only feel closer to her, but also helped me find something I love doing and creating for myself and others. Keep doing the beautiful work!

I don't have the patience for a lot of my big project but that's why you watch an entire Netflix show or twonwhile crocheting (I've binged half of Netflix actually..)

this is really a good hobby . I learned it when I was 9 and now I'm 18 . I created 15 blankets in those years , a lot of cardigans and sweaters and my all plushies are uncountable . Now my speed is very good . I do crochet really fast .

I really like this video. But I wanted to mention, one of the blankets made by hand (without a hook) was done by knitting, and not crochet. So it's a bit strange to include it in a video about crochet... I recognize this because I was going to teach my niece how to knit without needles. That method was used with the knitted blanket at about 3:38. I've been crocheting for over 25 years so I know the difference between crochet and knitting lmao... But thanks for this video. I had no idea that crocheting could reduce the onset of Alzheimer's by 30 to 50%. I just began teaching my mom, who is in her mid-70s, to crochet. So she will definitely enjoy hearing that anecdote!
