UNION PACIFIC RAIL YARD VIEWS WITH LOTS OF MOW EQUIPMENT! MASSIVE COAL TRAIN AND DRONE VIEWS!

06/15/2024 Quarry, Ia. This West bound manifest had a nice variety as it slowed it's approach for the Marshalltown yard. Marshalltown, Ia. Plenty of MOW equipment to be seen tied down at the yard. A tie gang has been working it's way East toward Tama, Ia. Montour, Ia. Made a quick stop at my property since I was in the area! A manifest, monster coal, and shorter coal train made an appearance.

    Hi Red, like the John Deere tractors! Monster mixed manifest UP train. You waiting patiently on your bike. Love the drone footage of the yard & intermodel going through. Its a huge yard great to see so many tracks & all of them in use. Fab video Red, see you on the next one ❤😊👍

    That was an awesome mixed manifest to open with, Red! Good length and variety. I love steel wire! Any kind of steel evokes childhood memories of going to Wrigley Field in Chicago. My dad and his brothers, myself, and my cousins would load the car and we'd go past the Gary Steel Works on the way. Those are some of my favorite memories! Thank you, Red. 😃😃😃😃😃❤❤❤❤❤

    Wow!! What a fabulous coal train, Red! It 3 lead locomotives plus 2 mid-train DPUs and another DPU on the rear. That was to go along with at least 290 loaded coal cars. I believe it's the longest coal train I've seen, and it was nothing less than spectacular!! I love it! 😄😄😄😄😄❤❤❤❤❤

    You caught some interesting trains at Quarry, Iowa, at the Marshalltown, Iowa train Yard and at Montour, Iowa on 15 June 2024, Red! The westbound manifest freight at Quarry, Iowa had a good variety of freight cars in the consist including two flat cars with John Deere tractors. The drone footage of the Marshalltown Yard allowed us to see some Maintenance of Way equipment along with the westbound intermodal train and a train moving in the yard. The eastbound manifest went through Montour, Iowa quickly. The first eastbound coal train had numerous CNW coal hopper cars in the consist was so long and heavy that it required a 2x3x1 power setup. The second eastbound loaded coal train was a much shorter train that only required one locomotive on the front and an end of train DPU. (21 June 2024 at 0049 CDT)

    @redsiowatrainvideos6645 . The first ones you showed were a ballast regulator on the left and a tamper in front for the surfacing gang that follows a tie gang. Then you showed the back of the tie gang.

  • @daveschmitt4499

    @daveschmitt4499

    6 күн бұрын

    Ahead of the surfacing gang is another ballast regulator and then I think is an anchor machine. Then are 3 spikers, then a tamper, then a manual run plater, then a tie straightener, then 2 tie inserters, then a tie crane, then the tie hole digger, then another tie crane, then a tie remover, (note. The tie inserter and remover are the same machine just doing different things. They clamp onto the rail, raise it slightly then grab the ends of the tie to remove or replace.), Next ahead is 2 spike pullers, then 3 more tie cranes and a ballast regulator. Further ahead I can't tell what it is. Most likely unused equipment.

    Hello Red, the UP freight train at the beginning is very beautiful. The drone flight over the UP yard is particularly interesting, as there are a lot of track construction machines parked there. The UP intermodal container train that passes through is very beautiful and always the expanse of the city and the green landscape. The UP trains that pass you are very beautiful. Question: has your flag disappeared? I miss it, the coal trains are great. And your drone shots. Have a nice weekend and best wishes, Wolfgang
