Damn nice video. Awesome scenery over Donner. A KCS GEVO, several SP AC44s including an unpatched one, a SP AC44 with flashing ditch lights. Wow what a day you had

I love mountain railroading and when I was young back in the '60's my dad and I would hike along Stevens Pass back in the Great Northern days before the merger and wait for trains. Loved the dynamic brakes coming down and brake shews smoking and the old EMD GP 7's and 9's in run 8 battling the 2.2 percent grande from Sky' all the way up to the west portal of Cascade Tunnel. No SD's in those days. We liked the Tonga Loop Bridge to watch trains.

Nice to see some EMDs after all these BNSF GE's. That shot at 14:38 was very very nicely timed.

+AndreiTupolev Man, do I agree. I won`t even watch most BNSF videos because the power is all GE, particularly on the wast coast.

+1TexasAllyn There were a couple of brakes smoking, steep grades require brakes to be set for a while...Just part of mountain railroading.

You're almost at Reno
Big trains dwarfed by the environment!
