This past weekend, I journeyed to North Platte to catch UP Big Boy #4014 on it trek across Nebraska to the College World Series in Omaha. This was the first time in two years I had got to see this locomotive and as always it did not fail to put on an amazing show. My part of the trip included the North Platte to Grand Island leg, as well as, the Grand Island to Council Bluffs leg which I will be uploading later this week. @@dad90 I understand but I'm used to what the railroaders call the locomotives
4014 is currently using 3985’s tender, however both steam engines will get their actual tenders back.

Well, I saw a plate on that tender that permanently tells about the Big Boy, so I doubt that's going to happen.

What to the Big Boy's original headlight? What i see is two bulbs instead of one.
Lol it has a diesel locomotive in the consist in case something went wrong.

Not only is it protection power for the steam, Ed once stated they use the dynamic braking for slowing and stopping! Saves wear on the loco brake shoes.
