Come along, as we chase Union Pacific Big Boy No. 4014 across the Overland Route with the Westbound Leg of the 2023 Home Plate Express. There were many fantastic sights to be had along the way, but the icing on the cake came when we arrived at the day's destination of Sidney. A cut of two, 3-pack well cars (used for carrying shipping containers) was left on the East end of the South Yard in Sidney-right where the 4014 needed to get through. SO, the UP Steam Crew set to work with the world's largest switch engine, as they used 4014 to shove the cars THROUGH the yard and out of the way. They then secured the cars and backed up to their final spot in the yard. As you'll see, not only does anything stand in the way of the Big Boy, but the UP Steam crew will ALWAYS be at the service of the Union Pacific Railroad; whether it be to maintain a fleet of steam locomotives, operate snow fighting equipment, or even help provide some switching duties to KEEP AMERICA MOVING.
