Union Pacific 844 Sacramento to Roseville October 4, 2012

Thursday, October 10, 2012. 844 leaves Old Sacramento and I was there early to be sure to get plenty of pictures and video. Then as the 844 was waiting for the rest of the consist to couple up, I was invited to ride in the tool car, Art Lockman. I rode to Roseville and my friends and fellow volunteers from the California State Railroad Museum rode to Colfax. This video is nothing but the raw video files edited together. No music added, just the pure sound of steam.

    Finally, a real comment from a real user. Have you seen these “comments” by Fabio Silva? They can be such are a real pain in the butt to deal with. No use with trying to ignore them, especially with his “Mr Peabody and Sherman” fiasco. I know he has a disability, but that shouldn’t be an excuse to go back and clean up his mess, right?

    It's interesting to see the crew worrying her through trackwork that UP installed into Old Sacramento. Was that derailment a faulty point on the derail or did they actually lay the track out of gauge on that curve?

    The radius of the curve wasn't correct when the rails were first laid

    844 had to go first because if the train were hooked up 844 would derail again and block the interlocking. better safe then sorry
