Uninvited Stranger Caught Me Off Guard!
Ойын-сауық
n today's episode of Wranglerstar, an unexpected visitor interrupts my day while I'm busy building on the cozy cabin. This uninvited stranger catches me off guard and asks me for diesel. I was appalled because he had a truck with a brand new kayak and bike on the roof rack! My response? "Sell your kayak and buy diesel." Needless to say, he didn't appreciate my answer and moved on down the road.
Left in shock at his audacity, I started to reconsider his way of life. Could it be better? Roaming free, unburdened by job or family obligations, and living without the weight of mortgage debt. This encounter made me reflect deeply on what it means to live a satisfying life.
Join me as I puzzle out who might be living the more fulfilling life: me, a man of responsibility, or him, a man living more carefreely.
Don't miss this thought-provoking episode!

One time I was getting gas early in the morning after a double shift. Random dude approaches asking for cash. I said I didnt have any. He asked if i could go get some from the ATM. Always amazed at this kind of person. Unreal.
He was scouting your property. Prepare accordingly.

I have come to realize America is FULL of professional freeloaders. It disgusts me. Curches give away food during the week, and these people line up on every day. Offer a decent item for sale - like a wheelbarrel - for $20 - and you might get a few responses. Offer it free and your inbox will fill with people who don't even need the damn thing. I just gave away some filing cabinets, and the woman wanted to know if I had a lock for the one she was taking. I told her they sell them in stores. F'in freeloaders!!
Keep your eyes open. Be aware !

Waving you over? Yeah that's the wrong approach.
I was driving my tractor in my field one day. A car pulled up at the end of the field as I was working. The driver motions for me to stop and come down to talk to him. With a bit of hesitation and a kind of stern look on my face I oblige him, as I walk up he doesn’t say “Hello” or “how’s it going “ no, no he says “Do you have a job for me?” Dumbfounded I said nothing and returned to my work.

I’m the same way. Approach me in a time of need and I’d drop everything to help. His attitude however, left a lot to be desired. I think you did the absolute right thing, sending him on his way. Like others have said, for all you know, he may have been scouting. I used to live literally with the Appalachian Trail bordering my back yard. I used to keep a stockpile of spare tent stakes, repair kits and even some spare tents I bought for cheap when I worked at a local sporting goods store (floor models). I did however, have some unsavory characters, not only trespass, but were unapologetic for doing so and almost ‘demanding’ my kindness. Those were people I said no to.
He was audacious; and, manners cost absolutely nothing - I agree with Wranglerstar on this one!

If someone is genuinely in a hard spot by accident, absolutely help them. Somebody cruising around living off other people's generosity is not cool. Don't care if he gets away with it, that is dishonorable.
We all find ourselves in need of help at some point. However, the only proper attitude when asking someone to sacrifice his resources, time and/or effort on our behalf is one of humility and gratitude. Had this character adopted such an approach when requesting your assistance, Cody, I have no doubt that his outcome would have been a more auspicious one. To paraphrase Mark Twain, "The world doesn't owe you anything, it was here first."

Seen a tik tok video earlier of a guy who dropped his JBL speaker into his engine bay then forgot about, started truck and destroyed it. He then retrieved it, tore all to pieces but still worked. He then proceeds to say “So JBL, you gonna give me a new speaker?”. Like he deserved it but of course an account presumingly JBL responded like a typical simp company and was like “Oh yeah well send you one because you deserve it.” I had to eye roll. He didn’t deserve it and the way he just expected another speaker for HIS ignorance. Sick of the entitled generation. Of course they are gonna keep asking if we keep giving our earnings away. Freeloaders and lazy

Bro, my pronouns are “sir” or “mister”.
A lone farmworker was approached in the field by 2 men on foot (Central Calif near I-5, early 1970's). They asked for water and while one drinker held the jug to his lips, he threw the bottle towards the worker and was simultaneously jumped on by the other. FFWD, my police chief godfather was telling my dad of two men who walked into the doctor's office sporting horrible slashes. The doctor called the police and while they were being treated an officer arrived to see what was going on. They refused to give any info. A few minutes later, the farmworker arrived at the PD to file a report of an attempted robbery. He got the best of them, swing his shovel like a battle axe and inflicted some serious injury.
He gave it his best shot and you did exactly what I would have done
could be phishing too see if he can get some diesel from your stock so then he knows you have a lot in storage to come back and rob a lot more useing a syphen and a tank on the back of a pickup. seem them do it herd of it and it happens in england along with car part thef like cutting caterlitic converters off. whos to know though but given how it was asked and the lack of compeling situtional surcumstance and just seeming to be casualy asking for a free top up i would have said the same. watch your storage cody he might be sniffing around for someone to rob hopefully not
A quality example of adult boy behaviour...
Twice I've had someone drive up, keep their motor running and, sitting on the opposite side of their vehicle from me (making me have to approach in order to hear), ask for either gas or money for same. In both cases, when denied, they blasted off in a noisy departure. Yep, thanks for confirming my suspicions!
Your homestead seems like it isn't that accessible. Be wary. He may also have been scouting your area. CYA 🏴☠️
He was not what you thought he was. He was there on purpose. Be careful.
Probably would have offered him some diesel in exchange for a little work. With that being said, a guy who just asks for it typically isn’t the type to agree to it.
As soon as he said “hey bro “, to start the conversation , … he lost all credibility as a man and instantly comes across as an entitled punk.

@@ConnorAdamz I think Cody said the guy was a millenial...so YOUNGER than Cody. Being respectful of those older than we are begins with our parents. I was taught to refer to adults as "SIR" or "MA'Am". The 5th commandment says we are to "HONOR" our parents. To this day if I approach an older person...a police officer or fireman (who risk it all for others)...a person in the military I will call them "sir...or Ma'am) to show respect for them. In the old testament we read that Elihu, who was young, waited patiently for the men in the group to talk. Most of today's young people (NOT ALL) were not raised to respect older people or people who put their life on the line 5 and 6 days a week for us. Reminds me of my conversation with a millenial coworker of mine who thought he could just roll up to anyone's house and plug in his EV. at the company I work for as a cabinetmaker/handyman(36+ years) a 22 yr old in shipping dept says he wants to work with and learn from me the skills of the trade - kid barely knows what end of the screwdriver to hold to drive screws - after working with me part time and eventually stopping I asked him if he was still interested in learning - his problem is he doesn't want to put forth the effort to learn - but his response to me was, "You know what to do if you want me over there to work with you - tell the boss (same boss for us both) that you need help and ask to have me moved over." What an arrogant answer - same as this guy calling you to him asking if you have any diesel.........
