Celsius is a lot easier and simpler to use. Water freezes at 0° and boils at 100°. A hot day would be 20° or more (in England) and a cold day would be 10° or less (again in England). Most measurements are between -10° and 200° for pretty much everything.

An amazing energy saving measure I never though of myself is what they did in my municipality (and some other buildings). They have horizontal window blinds on the outside of the building angled in such a way that they block direct sunlight in summer keeping it cooler, but allow it to shine through in winter allowing it to warm up.

The climate alarmists are the ones that vote for politicians that refuse to do controlled burns. Gavin Newsom has explicitly told the fire departments not to burn the dead brush and like Trump said, the fuel caused a massive fire that turned the sky brown. Human stupidity, caused the fire to be as big as it was.

This video is TERRIFIC! Always nice to get genuine science and beneficial ideas. I love how you talk about a growing and very harmful issue, but give solutions (no matter how complex) directly afterwards, so that the viewer is comforted with the knowledge that if we redesign our lives in barely changeable ways (barely changeable in regards to our living standards), all can be well, at least for a while longer. After all: Modern problems require modern solutions. Only problem is not enough powerful or important people know about these problems/solutions, or even care about fixing them.

2:09 - already got that covered! New refrigerants (R-600 on the horizon) are essentially propane (unburned, of course), which are FAR less of potent greenhouse gases than the old R-134a, R-410, or (shudder) R-12. Responsible servicers currently recover refrigerants from old units before disposal, but that won't be required with R-600.

Idea: use heat pumps to heat small spaces for cooking food and drying clothes. Will it work? I'll have to find out.

2:29 - build buildings that are naturally cooler eh? Just make sure that they don't turn out like my house - zero insulation so that no matter how much it is heated all of the air escapes within ten minutes. The windows are leaky too, and seeing as I am in England it rains all the time. Winter is bad - I always have to have a blanket - but at least in the summer I have a very cool place to stay in. I never have to use air conditioning for my house but most people would say that this is not worth it I think

The Heat bleeds into space. The hotter the earth, the faster the heat bleeds into space. The earth is huge and heat is not like solid matter that can be trapped. Heat goes wherever it wants and space is always its final destination.

Can you guys make a video on heat pumps? I truly believe that heat pumps can help slow down global warming because they're more efficient than pretty much every other method of heating since they pump energy from the outside, essentially cooling the air.

After years of watching the narrators of Minute Earth as Stick figures, it seems always odd at first to see the real person behind the voice. My brain just goes "that looks fake, she is a stik figure"... Wait, what? 😅😂 Jokes aside, I'm loving this series of retrospective episodes and getting to see the people behind the channel! And most importantly, THE DOG behind it! 🐶😁
