Unimog tree removal

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

Neighbors had a mulberry tree they wanted taken out. I had a unimog with a backhoe. Isn't that what being a good neighbor is about?
The action starts @ 2:55.
Here is the follow-up video using the hydraulic chainsaw to cut the tree up: • 5.6L Mercedes Chainsaw

This IS a “S mall E mplacement E xcavator” S.E.E. used by the Army for many years in Combat Engineer units to support other Combat and support units with . A living nightmare to service and repair . They were sold and warrantied by Freightliner truck dealers .And powered by Mercedes Benz Diesel engines .

YES everything is CASE backhoe. C&C does videos on service to them on his channel He gets them, goes through them. Top to bottom. Then sells them at his dad's and him Sales and services yard. He buys a lot of Military surplus. Lots of OD colors CAT dozer's.

One thing you might try. Listen to your hydraulic Gage your fingers on the lever movement by the Hydraulic noise. If that helps. You did great moving it with backhoe as far as I'm concerned Thank you for showing it to us all. Very clean looking.

The fans have a tendency to get moisture in them and lock up, them blow the fuse. This can then cause the other electrical on the back like the loader controls to stop. Go to the SteelSoldiers forum.

I cut my teeth first time I operated my uncle's 580-C backhoe when those were new on market I learned the controls. It's so easy once you learn that you just push them out and all function go out. The foot pedal swing. That is in a lot of big mining shovels, dragline big electric equipment. Can you leave the backhoe out of stowed position to move around with. The boom lockup for travel just a FYI. Never move your head out or above lever. I just about beamed myself, because of the sometimes having to rock the Case type boom lock in place. Who did you buy that from.

Dig around the base of the tree and pull out the roots. Then the tree will pull out. You’ll save wear and tear on the machine….think first. The machine was not made for your approach.

The advantage of that machine is that it can be moved to the jobsite without being hauled, and that is about the only plus it has going for it. That road must have a very good base, or the edge of the asphalt would not have survived the stabilizers with dirt pads at the edge.

Yes he’s clearly never been taught about the remote switches on the how to raise and lower the loader without having to get off the back of the machine, or the remote throttle switches… But he’s doing ok with three stick! Not everyone was fortunate enough to use these in the service like I did and get schooling on them
