The back zipper struggle

My freshman year, my school's football team went to state. The band went with them, of course. There were hundreds of people there, and while preforming, my shoelaces had come undone. I tripped infront of everyone, and everyone who was watching the live broadcast of it. Lesson of the day: tuck your shoelaces-

After watching this they have put my high school band to shame. We do everything they said not to do. We goof off all the time and we are always eating in our uniforms. Also while waiting for parades we sit on dirt and grass in our uniforms. The only time our uniforms are in bags is if we need to travel to places like Disney World so we can perform in the parade. We don’t have all those uniform rules they do. My high school band is now ashamed. 😂

our old band uniforms were like this and i’m becoming more thankful for the simplicity of our one zipper in the back jacket lol

My band's uniforms have a small pocket in the jacket. One day they were handing out candy at a football game. A bunch of us band kids grabbed a hand full of candy and put it in our jackets. We marched through halftime with bulges showing through our jackets lol😂.

I have a front zipper and 4 back buttons. Also the hock for the collar is in the back

We got new uniforms this year, all you do is zip up the back of the jacket and you're done! However before we had these types of jackets in the video and omg its life changing when you switch

That’s why they hem stuff and etc, so they can get the uniforms to fit the best they can. Sadly after a couple of years (5 and up years) the uniforms would need to get replaced from all the holes from hemming each uniform and making it fit everyone the best they can.

my schools uniforms has buttons on the inside so we can just fold the bottom of the bibs/jacket sleeves inside and button them in place

Our band has pretty similar rules. We also only zip the bags halfway after a performance so that the moisture isn’t trapped.

Nice Cadet style uniform, the style looks comfortable. My freshman band uniform back in 1980 was a style from the Sixties. They were 100% wool . The jackets were heavy. The whole suit was extremely hot in the summer and warm in the winter. Shalom

I love my high school marching band uniforms, the best part is when you put on the shako and plume!

Your uniform is really cool, I’m a Fraser marching band student we only have a jacket, pants, helmet, and gloves but yours is really cool

This is so lucky, our uniforms the jackets have the zipper in the back and the gauntlets have the button but you can unroll them the stay velcroed and like they said in the video they get all bent up. We also used to not have the nice hangers and used basic hangers, but now we have the nice ones

Depends if the gloves have little grip things on the part of glove which will help holding the instrument comfortably

I go to Petoskey high and when i saw the PHS i thought it was Petoskey. We have very different uniforms so i was interested. 👍

My band is the Winter Park High School Sound of the Wildcats. Winter Park, FL. We are considered to be one of the best in the county.

My school has the zipper on the back and for the gloves we put hair ties so the gloves dont slip off while we play

Nice for are uniform for my high school we also get plumes and we have a Blue, Black, White color skeem

We put the shako, the shako rag, gauntlets and gloves in the shako box, then after competitions, games, or parades, we leave the box vented. We don't have bags, we have our names on our hangers and number, the pants, jacket, and shako have a number as well, the plumes are handled by helpers, and we make a line of people zipping up jackets

People think our marching band hats are dumb. But they aren't. The uniform is an art. A way of life -

one time I forgot I wasn't at band during a dress rehearsal for the musical and I couldn't get my dress all the way zipped in the back that time so I just bluntly went up to someone and went "zip me" then realized this wasn't band and I had to elaborate

What kind of pants are they using? Cause I remember that our pants are high waisted that you hold on with button suspenders.

My school uniforms are like a shirt with buttons. We have shakes and plumes. We don't have gauntlets but we do have gloves.

My band have capes so the buttons on top always pop off

For our show this year the sideline doesn’t get uniforms and I forgot how much I actually miss our uniforms

This is so different then my uniform. We don’t have gauntlets and we don’t get a box to put our shakos in. Our shakos are also completely different shapes (imagine the end of a q-tip but black).

It's really not that hard to zip those in the back yourself, I've been doing it for 8 years

So imagine the British Royal Guards uniform, that's my high school uniform. Cause ya know, Winston Churchill is British and I go to Winston Churchill High lol. The hats are smaller and less fluffy. But other than that, it's very similar.

LMAO i show up to the school in my halves, zip my basic boring jacket right on, slap on my gauntlets, grab my bass drum and get into parade block

The plumes on these uniforms are kinda weird. Ours don't have that little thing on the bottom that sticks out. It blends in with the shako and doesn't look like it's been put in. Just noticed that.... I'm also gonna start tucking my laces.

My uniform also has a zipper in the bag and I play flute and we don’t have to cut off the fingertips only clarinets

Their uniform is made like ours with how we put them on but we dont have the extra sleeves and we call the hat a hat and our pocket is in the jacket not the jumper, and we dont tuck the shoes lases in our dinkels, and our gloves go in our hat box for us. Im a uniform manager for my school so i have to fix all the rips and buttons. Anf i think its crazy they can't touch their plums! Like the band parents have oils on their hands too right?! But im excited because we get new uniforms next year for my jr year!!!!! 😊😊😊😊

Man y'all is lucky having the zipper in th front. I'm a section leader at a smallish school and our sleeves can come off with buttons and since I am a section leader the cord also gets in the way when you accidentally pull the sleeve off trying o straight jacket your self into that thing.

we put our jackets on how you would put a jacket on backwards and they zip in the back it's not uncommon for people to just walk up to you and go "zip me" and you do it without question

She mentions necessities in their uniform pockets. For me. I had my Mardi Gras essentials in the pocket: phone, wallet, AirPods, spare wires headphones, valve oil, slide grease, and my spare mouthpiece if the other one falls in the disgusting New Orleans street

Gauntlets are so much easier to put on than my school. We have to wrap the gauntlet around our arm to put it on

Ours requires us to because we don’t store them at the school except during off season

Im not a stylist but that jacket doesnt match with the bibles and it looks wierd. My school has a jacket that matches with the bibles and they look awsome.

My school ma uniform has the zipper on he back and the brass ware the open finger gloves and the woodwinds ware normal glove. I play clarinet

We don’t war gloves/gauntlets. Texas is hot all-season round. Our band is very specific on what to wear underneath our uniforms.

😅we put are shoes in the back pocket if not it'd be empty since we don't have gontlets or gloves
