JASON PATEL AND BEN HARDY star in this romance - with a difference.Patel, playing Aysha/Asiq is an Asian drag queen on the circuit and is befriended by single dad, Luke (Hardy).The two begin to fall for each other - Luke identifies and is straight but begins to go on a journey as Hardy outlines in this interview.Both talk about how they came to understand the journey and story of Aysha/Ashiq as written by co-director James Krishna Floyd.While loosely based on the UK drag queen Asifa Lahore' story (see the interview with Floyd) - in the film Ashiq is an Indian Gujarati Muslim. Hardy is well known actor in UK breaking through in the BBC soap series, ‘Eastenders’ and has also appeared in ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ and ‘Love at First Sight’Patel is a performer and actor making his big screen debut. Impressive.
