I downloaded it thinking, "Eh, looks like it'll be a good FE Rip-off" oh my gosh it's so fun, and it just kept going! I have 10 hours logged in the demo from playing it once.

Vanillaware really said, "That new Ogre Battle is taking too long to come out. Let's make our own."

Not even released yet and it's like a fine aged wine.

The Tactics System is kind of like the Gambit System in Final Fantasy XII. I find that interesting.

This is actually a really cool concept for a gameplay trailer. Reminds me of the GBA Fire Emblem games

If you’re a Fire Emblem fan, but you’re open to differences in tactical gameplay, you’ll like this. Even if it sounds boring or tame, there’s a big demo you can try to get the feel of the game

If the demo wasn't out this would be the trailer I needed to properly see how the combat went and why I wanted a demo in the first place. I'll be so happy to have the freedom of not being timed when I go trying to think of certain formations.

Whoa, that's pretty cool. Is Vanillaware finally receiving the respect and, well, budget that they deserve? Hope to see Odin Sphere and Dragon's Crown rereleased on Switch, hopefully. Unicorn Overlord's Demo is amazing, i'm excited for the full release.

I think 13 Sentinels' largely popular reception helped with that. Started off seeming as a flop, but word of mouth helped it sell well, and was considered one of the best games of its year. But yeah, I hope the Odin Sphere remake and Dragon's Crown come to Switch like GrimGrimoire did. Would also love to see Muramasa come so I could try it.

@@PhenomUprising That's just untrue. There are alot of similarities between the two games, and while the systems are much closer to the Ogre Battle series, that doesn't mean the similarities between Unicorn Overlord and Fire Emblem aren't there.

The demo changed me, I went from I might pick this up someday to an immediate preorder after beating it.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE the demo! Highly recommended to anybody who likes strategy games.

Looks fantastic, definitely going to get this for all three of my systems sometime. Hugely influenced by Ogre Battle it seems. Can't wait to check it out.

I can also confirm that the demo is amazing. I'm a sucker for tactics games and man I love what I'm experiencing so far. Early Game tip: Mock battles will help you understand what classes do to each other and formation setups. Your Formations and who you egage a fight with will be a huge factor. Setup and field positioning will make or break a strategy. Newbies to strategy and tactics games,. Just take your time to understand. It'll feel overwhelming, but just simplify what you want to do with your setups and strategy. Definitely give the demo a chance 🔥

@@micopen6719 very much like Unicorn Overlord, but more open field and more troops i guess, and you can recruit lots of different creatures like dragons, octopus, griffons, skeletons, vampires, werewolfs, hawkman, mermaids,hellhounds and so on. So there is a lot of variety beyond human units. if you don't mind the graphics its still very much worth playing.

I think this has to be greatest combined turned based style I've ever seen

The battle concept reminds me a little of Yggdra Union with the whole fighting as a group thing

It's good to give the demo a try! Just know that once you get past the beginning stuff and have proper control it is timed for like 5 hours, but luckily that timer pauses while in the main menu.

This game is friggin fire. Can’t wait!

The game is developed by Vanillaware and published by Atlus (the same publisher of Ogre Battle 64). This game is 100% a spiritual successor to the Ogre Battle series.

This game is exactly what I would want in a Fire Emblem game. Exploring an overworld map and not just boring world map "point and click" mission. PS: the demo is 7 hours of content and you can transfer your save data. 😁

I love how the majority of the comments made here, are not even about the game this video is showing off... By the way Atlas / Vanillaware when can we expect to see a remake of Ogre Battle: March of the Black Queen, and Ogre Battle 64 Person of Lordly Caliber....

Protip: On Yuzu, you can make games run at higher resolutions without the performance issues that you often get on the Switch's hardware, which is based on a nine-year-old chip with as much RAM as a Chromebook and slower than a GT 1030, and designed and built by a company that hates its fans and consumers..

Early-access builds were indeed locked behind Patreon, but the source code for early-access releases was always open-source and one could easily create their own build using the source code. The practical reality is that building emulators for such a complex system is difficult, and funding is required for development hardware and other expenses.

@@Unknown_User174 While pirating is used in a bunch of Nintendo games. Nintendo does not offer a way to buy older games, eg the Wii store, 3DS shop. If they offer a way for people to purchase those games. Maybe pirating Nintendo games won't be so common. As games become more digital. Companies have to host servers to for others to download. I believe that's the reason why they cut support for older games. Even though they're the largest company in Japan.

@@M64bros Yuzu is free and the Source Code is free as well. There’s already several back ups on the internet online. Also Yuzu isn’t paid-wall at all, they used to have VOLUNTEER Patreon donations. No one is forcing you to pay them.

@@M64brosEveryone can access this emulator. The only thing it's paywalling is the nightly versions in patreon. Those versions are considered unstable and may or may not work and or could leave bugs. A stable version is available to everyone.
