Unfortunately, the deputy attorney is probably right that there will likely be a supreme court case regarding indoor audits. It's also unfortunate, that the supreme court is very likely to rule that government building managers are allowed to make rules regarding photography which are highly dependent on the operations that get conducted in the building. They might say that the rules must be in writing - rather than arbitrarily decided on the spot by various employees. This wouldn't be a bad case to have go forward because Phil's actions actually damage the city's case.

@symo You can't say this guard was principled. He literally doesn't care about the constitution, and he said it on camera. You also don't care about the constitution or the law it seems. So what is the point of a citizen serving in the military, or even the police force, and taking an oath to the U.S constitution, if Americans like you don't care about our constitution? Or is it freedom for thee but not for me type of deal? This should be settled in Supreme Court. Granted it has been over, and over again, so, again it just seems like you don't care about the law? This isn't a combat zone. How we are being treated here is pretty much how we treat citizens over seas in other nations and we treat them like terrorists... American citizens are not terrorists... this is ridiculous what 9-11 did to how people think about filming in public. The patriot act needs to go, its a trash relic of a bill that has only eroded our rights as citizens and gave the government more power over us. I'm guessing you like big government and spying on us though.

Good on you for being self aware enough to not only open your mind but to admit you used to view these differently. People have to look at each situation individually - whether we're talking about police incidents or 1st amendment audits. Even though the majority of audits are done with good intention. I feel like anyone who's fully on 1 side of the other - either "All cops are bad!" or "the police are ALWAYS right!", is the problem. It's not as simple as choosing a side. Each situation calls for its own separate interpretation. The good thing about guys like L.I.A. is that he's intelligent enough to do these audits the right way. There are a lot of others who just want to make a video and end up doing more harm than good - which causes people to generalize these auditors as "all bad" the same way you may have in the past. Same way people generalize police.

I just subscribed because you have the balls to face this tyrant, ignorant, and corrupt public servants and teach them about first amendment rights. Keep it up until they learn about the laws and people can exercise their rights peacefully.

This guy is definitely a public danger. Hopefully he will get arrested.

I’m a supervisor for AUS. Every contract is different. I train my officers very very carefully in regards to knowing property lines and what they are allowed to do. I’ve shown them videos like LIA to show them how NOT to act like a tyrant. I always tell them never put your job above your values. Being an American and upholding the constitution far far outweighs any duty assigned by your employer. I’ve done everything I can to ensure this kind of ignorant behavior never happens at my site and Thankfully it’s never happened. The little metal or embroidered badge means nothing. Respect. Do your job the right way. Get your paycheck and go home. Learn the law but most importantly learn the constitution and understand that someone who’s filming is not suspicious on its own and if anything if someone is recording it’s just more security to make sure all parties conduct themselves honestly and appropriately. I’m sorry the company I work for let you down again. Just know (and I’m sure you do) that every contract is different and these individuals (and yes there are many unfortunately) do not at all represent all of us. Keep it up LIA I love you work and it’s neeeded now more than ever.

I was a security guard in college. The client told me the only reason I was there was for insurance purposes. The last thing they wanted me to do was to do ANYTHING. I'm pretty sure Phil isn't paid enough to physically confront members of the public.

eh technically they can and are expected to physically intervene in certain critical scenarios. Many security guards are trained to use tasers, batons, and even guns.

Everytime you explain things to these people I feel like I'm losing brain cells with their answers prime example of corruption at its best.

I saw you get arrested and taken away in this very Townhall why are they afraid to do the same thing to the security guard again some kind of weird double standard or they believe the security guard has qualified immunity because if you put your hands on the security guard they would’ve arrested you and as far as trespassing a security guard if he’s becoming unruly or putting his hands on people why can’t he be trespassed it’s not his building anymore than it is your Building so I cant you trespass the security guard you both have the same legal right to be there and you are working there the same as him he’s doing security in the building you’re doing photography in the building a new story a news journalist you’re both working in the Townhall the same as if you were both door-to-door salesman on the sidewalk you’re both using public property in the course of doing your job I don’t understand the bias I’m going to have to call them

Quick note from a current security guard... Allied Universal (now just 'Allied' after acquiring 'G4S') has strong ties as well as government and private contracts with China and the CCP. That is how they managed to aquire G4S considering the massive difference in scale between the 2 companies.

Phil said at one point that the auditor could "stick" the Constitution. When he's in court to answer assault charges, he and his advocate will wear said Constitution like a brand new suit.

So walking into city hall and getting pushed in a stairway is cause for six charges from the Danbury prosecutor? This is a prime example of small government tyranny and corruption. The officer, prosecutor, and security guard should all lose their jobs.

So I looked into this & phil has definitely been fired. As far as I could find out he is now working in a supermarket called whole foods market on the checkouts in a place called Danbury Connecticut

Poor kid cop, he did look like he was second guessing doing the right thing, Sargent just looking to see what side the kid is on

If they insist on having a guard abuse people in the stairwell than they definitely need a second one to watch the lobby.
