    I just love that you can read Nynaeve's character perfectly. I think it shows how good of a job Zoe does at her performance but also how observant you are.

    "We were never equals" This hurts my heart, because it's Moiraine saying she believes she was never as good as Lan. And it shows just how badly she is hurting.

    The way you intuitively tap into the spirit of wheel of time. You understand Nynaeve so well, all of the characters. Then when you said the Seanchan were over the top, I was like, "omg! They invented over the top". 🤣 So enjoying your reactions.

    I have a bad feeling in my gut that Liandrin's son was the product of an assault. This plot line isn't in the books so your guess is as good as mine - but I hate that they're making me empathise with her. Remember last season when she was talking to Nynaeve - she says something to the effect of: men still hold power in much of the world and are rarely kind to little girls who show that they might be more powerful than them.

    People keep saying it isn't in the books, but I seem to recall something about Liandrin seeing some random man in a guardhouse in TGH or TDR

    I think Liandrins hatred of men and need for power stems from her being taken by force when she was younger. The son being the product; the one good thing that came of it. Just a guess but it makes sense to me.

    Reluctantly in Liandrin's defense, she has been getting blackmailed about the existence of her son by Moiraine for at least since the middle of last series. Having one of Moiraine's new special projects suddenly arrive at the place you thought was secret from everyone else would really have felt like some sort of threat.

    Not a spoiler. It’s been in the episodes. They start as Novices, doing chores and learning the basics. Next are Accepted like the girl that showed Nyneave the healing weave. Then they become full Aei Sedai.

    Fear isn’t an emotion that Moirain handles well. She doesn’t feel like she has anything to offer right now. And she’s probably afraid that what happened in season one episode five could happened to Lan. I don’t think he is interpreting the we were never equal as line correctly.

    99,999 times out of 100,000 an Ogier will try peace and diplomacy and try to settle everyone down. But never, ever piss them off. They have a saying of putting a long handle on your axe (meaning being belligerent and angry). You don't want to see an Ogier with a long-handled axe.

    POSSIBLE SPOILERS BELOW That's the thing about Rand; He's a ho, but a ho with a code he cannot live by, despite his best efforts. In fact, in the books its implied that he's a closeted polyamorous that grew up in a conservative village, so he doesn't understand that that's what is going on. He WANTS to be with just Ewgwene or Selene but for some reason he just cant. And he hates himself for it. Robert Jordan spent ALOT of time on that in the books.

    Yeah... I don't like Red, either, but based on what she's said about men and power and her obsession with proactively making the world safe for girls from the evils of men... My guess is having a kid wasn't something that came from an activity she chose to participate in. Like there was a lack of consent that resulted in a kid. While I don't care for her personality or her methods, if that's the case I think it puts her motivation in important perspective. But also if she still loved and cared for this boy bc obviously whatever happened wouldn't have been his fault, but some would be bitter and resentful and it seems like she wasn't... that also says something important about her character.

    I really don't like the ball-gag they decided to go with for the 'ocean people from last season'. I try not to say 'in the books' because frankly that path leads to heartbreak, but 'in the books' it's a collar. It might be a visual thing - a collar might not be noticeable in a distance shot like something covering the entire lower face - but... ugh. Keep up the great reactions. You're the reactor I look forward to the most for WoT.

  • @tarisedai9573

    They're wearing massive collar / shoulder piece - I think the gag is just an extra, de-humanising aspect that doesn't actually have to do with the A'dam. There is brief mention of damane in the books being gagged and even having their tongues cut out. The Sul'dam have bracers instead of a small bracelet. There's just no leash connecting them - which again, is supported by the books. I have no issue with them, they are visually terrifying and sad at the same time.

  • @gork8468

    @gork8468

    @@tarisedai9573 They definitely look cool. The costuming overall is pretty good. I just wish if they *had* to use a gag that it was extended outward so it didn't look like a ball-gag or a pacifier that a rave kid might have used back in the 90s. But then you risk confusing them with a veiled Aiel.

  • @tarisedai9573

    @@gork8468 Yeah that's true .. my guess is we will see women being made damane in episode 4 and we will see the gags being put in and I have a feeling it's not gonna be nice. But yeah, it took me a second to get over the visual, but the more I see of the Seanchan in general the more I like it.
