Unfrosted Netflix Movie Review

Ойын-сауық

#unfrosted #jerryseinfeld #netflixmoviereview
This is my official Netflix movie review of the brand new comedy, Unfrosted. Jerry Seinfeld is our director, and this cast is stacked. Michigan, 1963. Kellogg's and Post, sworn cereal rivals, race to create a pastry that will change the face of breakfast. A tale of ambition, betrayal, sugar, and menacing milkmen, Unfrosted stars Jerry Seinfeld in his directorial debut.

I'd bet good money that the original script was funnier and more insane than what we saw. It felt like they cut a lot of stuff - either for time or budget - that would've actually made it make sense. Like that weird ravioli creature that pops up for 10 seconds of screen time - no way they didn't have more going on with that thing. And I'd also bet good money that the terrible line deliveries were because Seinfeld told them to yell. He spent half the movie yelling his lines...

I’m beginning to see the genius of Larry David the more things Seinfeld makes without him. Sure he makes a great light hearted kids thing, but he isn’t as great at writing comedy than I thought he was. This movie proves it (i mean Bee movie proved it already but I thought hey maybe it was like a fun I’ll try it once thing) But yeah it baffled me how a cast of multi millionaire comedians could be this unfunny. That’s bad script and direction for you.

Bill Burr is outstanding as JFK, and it takes a real history junkie to pull out the tiny bits of what really happened (although there is one bit of truth they apparently don't trust us to already know, so they tell us at the end.)

Perfect review.. I went into this movie wanting to like it, even to the point of being totally open to liking it even if it was very different than my taste, but i couldn't force a laugh. I think Jerry has been so successful that he could be like Norm and not care if we laugh or like it, the difference is Norm was almost always hysterical, and this movie was never hysterical. Like Jerry very much regardless. I think he's a great dude who's made the world much better, but not with this movie.

  • @pantherman16

There was a Comedians in Cars episode with Joel Hodgson. In that episode, they both riff an imaginary scene over the sound of the ketchup bottle and how there were endless stale and stiff company meetings on handling the new ketchup bottle sound. THAT was a thousand times more funny than this movie, and should have offered the template of how to make this movie. If Jerry had tossed the stand-up stage format of streams of puns and jokes and just used that ultra-serious premise of stakes stiff upper lip attitude over pop tarts, that would have been a million times funnier. Life and death over pop tarts. Instead, everyone was funny and happy with each other, showing Jerry's kryptonite: Knowing how to write a movie, even a funny movie. He should have consulted Mel Brooks. This happens when you believe your own press clippings to the degree you feel you are omnipotent. It happens with celebrated, award-winning directors. Jerry just got there in film one.

It's a pop tart movie not a drama about the Cuban Missile Crisis. It's targeted at kids or maybe that's just Jerry's famous "edgy anti PC" knock knock jokes. But it's not, the 60's are one of the most famous decades in pop culture, the jokes are just bad, we understand what they're trying to say, THATS THE PROBLEM, its.....NOT FUNNY.

Couldn’t agree with you more Austin. I love most everything Jerry has done. He knows funny. Seeing this, I wouldn’t be surprised if this ends up being a Kaufman-like ruse to show how comedy can no longer funny due to appeasing the woke community and everyone in the movie especially the comedians are in on the gag.

I wanna watch it because the reviews are dull and boring and dull and boring, for the sake of comedy can be dull and boring, and if you repeat it, it becomes a joke, except you had technicolor and a few famous names and then it becomes ironic and a force to be reckoned with or just a bad farce

@@hawsrulebegin7768I've now seen it twice. It's fun, and there are a lot more gags and references than I picked up the first time. Every line is a reference to something. Love the line "leave the box," evoking the depressed barfly trope. All the way to the "movies that end with inexplicable dance numbers and/or individualized credits" cliche. It's a dumb, silly movie, packed with gags and famous comedians. I'll probably watch it again.
