I love seeing footage of Clint being in full director mode. He was 61 when the movie was being filmed yet he has more energy than most people in their 30s.

My favourite tale from the filming of Unforgiven is the 36 hour shoot day to avoid a blizzard

This is one of my favorite western movies, I love how he was a cold blooded killer and a beautiful women fell in love with him because of what she saw on the inside. She changed him and even after she past away he still chose to remain a good guy and do his best to raise his children, he had to kill again but it was for his kids to live a better life. Everybody can change, sometimes you just have to find the right person.

Little did they know at the time that Unforgiven would be a summer blockbuster and win 4 Oscars, including Best Picture. All that hard work paid off.

Gene Hackman swore not to do a film this violent? well, he and Arthur Penn w/ Warren Beatty, made the film that started it all .'BONNIE & CLYDE', and as Buck, the first guy to bleed to death in front of us, GH was fantastic in those scenes.

Well yes, he did those movies earlier in his carreer, French Connection as well. What he referred to in this program was that in his late 50s at the end of the 80s he felt he didn't want to do those kinds of roles any longer. This was the exception he made since the script was so intriguing.

Hal Holbrook, rest his soul. how did I miss this? this film is about going off the wagon really hard! violence don't come so easy no more. 'cause he got so sober, he no longer justified killing women and children, who subsequently helped him stay sober on the pig farm.

Curiously, the man with no name always had a name. In the first three they were; "Joe", "Manco" and "Blondie." Eastwood said never say never, but it finished up the western for him, it was a good way to leave it. Personally, I don't see where a modern western could go. Tombstone came out in 1993 if you count that.

He did win Best Picture and Best Director. I wouldn't say he was robbed. If anybody should have won Best Actor it should have been Denzel or Robert
