UNEXPECTED First Day in INNSBRUCK, Austria! 🇦🇹

Welcome to Innsbruck, the capital of Austria’s western state of Tyrol! It's a city in the Alps known for being one of best destinations for winter sports. Today we check out the Old Town and visit the Bergisel Ski Jump, a prominent landmark overlooking the stunning Innsbruck skyline. We were so lucky to have met Thomas, a local ski-jumper who was kind enough to take us up the the very top, where the athletes clip in the skii's and catapult down the ramp at approx 90 km per hour. We were talking about this in the days proceeding, as it was so incredibly mind blowing to us seeing this in person!
We hope you enjoy the video and like PART TWO of our Innsbruck adventures in next weeks vlog! ~ Kristy & Steve

Wow, Austria is spectacular! Those alpine views are amazing and the interior of the cathedral was one of the most splendid pieces of architecture I have ever seen. The sky jumping was incredible too. I have watched it on TV many times, but the angles you shot really showed how intimidating it really is. By the way, loved the Slovenian vids too. Looking forward to more from Austria.

Great vid too 👊

Gas stations are open on Sunday in Austria and they have many things supermarkets have, at least the bigger ones, just a tip. They are more expensive than a normal supermarket though.

watching this brings back lots of memories of my solo travels.. . the cable cars to the top of the mountains behind innsbruck was fun . it goes up to 7,000 feet above the city.. there was snow at the top and only plus 5 degress, even in june 2016.. but 75 degrees which is 24 celcius and sunny in the city centre below.. great place to go , also vienna and salzburg are worth a visit..

Its a brilliant place to visit isn't it! We spent 24 hours in Vienna as a layover and enjoyed what we experienced, need to revisit and spend longer though - and also check out Salzburg! We've heard great things about it. Thanks for watching Brian! ☺️

Innsbruck has 132 000 inhabitants and there are over 30 000 students! If you are sportive, it is a very good place to study. There are 13 skiing resorts around, reachable with public transport. The price fot the season ticket is like 3x skiing in the US.
