These "unexpected costs" should be expected costs factored into your gear and labor burden rates. You need to know your numbers or else.... Keep up the great work. I would love to see you make a video where your break down your bid numbers (Labor, Fuel, Equipment, Materials, Overhead, Trucking etc...) along with your profit / mark up.

Your videos are getting better and better. I think I'm gonna start calling you easy money because everybody that isn't in business for themselves. Thinks money just falls out of the sky. I think you've shown people the reality of what it's like. Sometimes when I walk into a business and talk to the owner I look around. I see you must be rich. They get a puzzled look on their face. That's what I explained. I'm sure everyone that walks through that door wants money for little late. Team wants donations for this donations for that business licenses permits fees never ends.

Love the video. The last 3 months we’ve been hit with so many things that fall into the “unexpected costs”. I’m ok with stuff that happens here and there but when it’s non stop and one thing right after the next, it gets super frustrating man. That’s what no one sees us business owners deal with. The mental side is absolute hell sometimes.

The costs never end it seems! I am curious about the layering of the rock.. i always thought of DG as base and 3/4 as topper.. also Im curious if you guys have done any geo grid installs.. Ive seen a few around here and they seem to be an awesome product, but nobody near me seems to offer them. You guys do any?

  • @JamesMoVlogs

Oh yeah I usually use geo grid on sloped driveways, and the area we put the rock and dg is where water stands so want the 3/4 under so water can still filter down and the dg up stop is so they can get out of the car and not step in slush. 😎👍

James, I believe when you were younger you thought about becoming a fireman/EMT. Have you ever thought about looking at that career again? Steady income and lower stress. Here in NJ firemen work 2-3 days a week. You could do a fireman job and also have a work for hire construction business as your side hustle

Every fire fighter that I know out here hates it. It’s all political BS out here. Cody was a paramedic/Emt for almost 9 years out here and stepped away because of the atmosphere. Another big reason is the fact I get to see my kids every night and don’t have to worry about a 24 hour shift. Wife works night shift so that would men I needed a babysitter almost 24/7

Mr James, I have been watching your channel for quite a while now... I really enjoy the content but lets not kid ourselves... Your unexpected cost of your tailgate was really not unexpected... Right wink wink... I do remember "someone" trying to load an MT-100 in that same truck bed with that same tailgate... I still remember that pop sound the tailgate made... I think there was a lowboy trailer or some other bumper pull trailer involved... I was like "No, he really isn't going to do that is he... Or was that a Mandela Effect... Some unexpected costs are avoidable... Just sayin' bro... Keep up the good work...

Tailgate worked fine for 2 years after that lol Home Depot fork lift guy hit the bumper 4 months ago and bent the latch so we were using a 6 inch nail to unlatch it and now the spring snapped, so as of 2 days ago a ratchet has been holding it up .
