When Roosevelt Raceway was the Crown Jewel of Harness racing. Sad, the tear down was of a great raceway, it was known as a land for "Money Grab"..Thank you Al D'mato and your cronies.

Thanks very much for uploading this! I only saw pics of her in my childhood and understood from the articles that she travelled and won all around the world and was very popular. Her fate was the Prix d'Amérique in Paris. She deserved to win that great race at least once .... but she never did. And she died far too young.

Une De Mai is forever a very great trotting legend who, unfortunately, died in 1978 (4 years after this video) after a torn belly, only a month after giving birth to a single filly named May Flower...

Moni Maker and Peace Corps might have earned more money and trotted faster, but Une De Mai was and still is the Queen!!!

And she was a very nice horse. Years ago when the foreign trotters would come in to Roosevelt they would all be housed in the same barn and you could just walk in and pet them. I remember her as being very easy going and you could pet her without any biting. Later on they had security on that barn and you couldn't go in.
