Yeah this us a game that will be updated for years to come. We’ve waited so long I’m happy to play it through this stage to just bring it along.ultimately if the developers care about the product enough(which seems the case as it’s not released properly yet) that they will listen to the community and the data and balance the game how it should. I feel like the blueprint is there for the best boxing game of all time.

As a Fight Night Champion fan... I heard about this game being in development a while ago and was like... AT Last!!! Finally somebody with sense is releasing a boxing game! I really can't understand how EA Sports is dropping the ball so much not releasing a boxing title when Fight night champion was released over a decade ago and still today you have a very healthy online fan base and community still playing the game... Can we name another game where this is happening? I just don't get it... Smh🤦🤦🤦 and now fast forward to today... We have this game and it looks like a mobile app boxing game... You would think by now graphically the game would be light years ahead of fight night.. But it looks like a boxing game that came out 10 years ago... I think that we've been waiting so long for a boxing game that our desperation has us pretty much settling for anything... I mean seriously... This game looks dated! The punches look soft.. The fighters look stiff and robotic... And what is this ridiculous and pointless footwork that everybody's pretending to be excited about... It appears they were going for look more than technique and strategy... This game is not it... EA Sports need to drop FNC 2 point blank

I basically said the same on studdy's channel he covers this game alot and got invited to play it a few months ago well when I said this game is a massive let down was over hyped fells like fight night 2004 and arcadey boy the attacked me in the comments and even did studdy said well why you even watching then so I pointed out he most probably getting paid to promote the game or just scared to tell the truth so he gets his free copies and invited back for undisputed 2

@@mmanut3409 Yeah. Steel City is grabbing the higher profile combat sports youtubers. I think even Fight night finest on board. That's cool with me. Let those guys make a bag and be part of the process, I like that. It's also a very smart move on Steel City side, they get advertising, exposure and buzz so I'm cool with all of that. What is not cool is when the game is not as good as expected but the people on board are not being truthful about it or let their bias get in the way. Hundreds of thousands of people are going to watch their videos, that's a lot of influence. Maybe to them it's great but since they on the same team their view is inevitably going to be slanted and perhaps biased. Studdy seems be pretty fair about some weak points on the game but some others that are on Steel City team are clearly biased. I was even thinking the same you were talking about when I was watching the first stream of this game, a massive let down but the guy playing was on Steel City team and arguing with the live steam chat about how we were all delusional saying the game was weak.

I Think If EA Remasters FNC, Enhanced Graphics, Better Career Mode And Stamina It’ll Be Perfect.

The foot movment and shuffling around the ring seemed to be the main focus the actual punching and landing looks very ps2 era not even 360/ps3 Era fight night champion was ahead of it’s time

Finally someone's opinion that actually MATTERS 💯 someone who actually knows boxing and knows the game of boxing . Was waiting for someone that knows how to SIM box so i can watch REAL gameplay and here goes what i was looking for 🔥 excited AF for this game

From watching this video it look like micro movements and three punch combos and resetting is the meta, can't wait to play this.

It's like people who don't box or have never watched a boxing match or just simply have no knowledge of boxing made this damn game

Honestly i've been waiting so long for you specifically to post about the game the greatest ever, when this game officially drops your gonna run this show i know it man.

Great Breakdown I feel the same way. I feel like getting the combos down is gonna be important knowing what combos come out the fastest. When I played it felt like I was in quicksand and my opponent was way faster than me. Also it doesnt seem like there is a Stamina Penalty. So you can just throw punches and zap your stamina and even if you get hit in low stamina it doesn't drain your life any faster which sucks because you should be rewarded for playing smart and preserving your stamina. Im ready for the next beta hopefully we get different boxers to play with.

It has potential but what people have to remember this is a work in progress, not like a beta that is almost finished it is literally going into early access first. The cash injection from going into early access should help with the progress cause you have to remember that the dev team is crowd funding making this game an indie title. With that in mind i think they're doing a good job so far.

If the game wants to be realistic then they need to make the punches a lot more powerful, they went Fight Night style.. We also need flash ko's. Like Martial said, if you duck a punch and receive an uppercut.. you should be knocked down or get a lot more damage from that. There are more to fix and so I hope that they don't leave the game like this.

I like the movement and learning the different fighters rhythm patterns like I learned Gatti jab is the quickest when he's backing out of a close exchange I back out and threw 3 quick jabs stopped and threw a straight right and stunned ward I think they need to rework how judges score because I got robbed twice but I also got 2 1st round knockouts and a 5th round stoppage because I closed Gatti eye

It's just they still have to fix the punch animations. And they need to not fall in the FNC trap of punches not doing any damage. IRL one punch can ko you, now it doesn't have to be that extreme for the game but make punches do damage, ESPECIALLY COUNTER PUNCHES. If you counter someone it should either be a insta rock or do a lot of damage. But i'm liking the direction the game is going in, it just still needs more work.

The legend himself is back

They throw arm punches with a pivot in the feet and ok hip movement. They don't follow through and that has been a problem since Alpha. It destroys the power of a shot, or at least how it translates with the eye. It's like they throw to connect with no body weight behind it. I feel like they did the motion capture with boxers shadow boxing and not in any type of simulated combat situation. The hook for instance is thrown the same way every time. There are no trajectory variations in angle and it never really seems to be thrown like they are trying to punch the opposite side of the opponents face. That doesn't mean exaggeration of motion, but there needs to be more of it. The same with the angle that every shot is thrown or finishes at. There isn't an upward or downward motion on the either the start or finish of any of those hooks, jabs, or straights . This doesn't have to be user controlled. What fighter throws the EXACT same shot picture perfect every time across a straight line or 90 degree angle? Not because they can't but it's not realistic in an actual fight or very human. You loop punches, shorten or lengthen them. It's literally the same tight hook no matter what is happening with the opponent. It looks robotic after a few are thrown. The straights are thrown with the force of a pawing jab. I don't see anything being thrown while at a different attack angle, but that is probably due to the players and not the game. They throw punches like they are hitting the heavy bag, and not like they are trying to actually hurt their opponent. The movement is the best part so far from what I've seen watching video after video of this game. I swear this reminds me of " Don King presents: Prize Fighter" with how little impact the shots look to really have. Well.........maybe not that bad, but this is to me the next evolution of it. I'm tired of hearing it's beta, when this is an animation issue that should have been figured out in what is at it's core a game about punching your opponent and not getting hit. Fight night still has this game beat in the punching department and it's 2 console generations old. That is a fucking problem, I don't care what the fuck the developer says they are going for or what they are trying to do with this game. It's boxing.....the punching HAS TO LOOK AND FEEL RIGHT! Otherwise.....what the hell is the point? Imagine a new Madden with the feel or look of a Madden that's almost 2 decades old. Last thing, and it's not an ill on this game but boxing games as a whole. Where is the head movement? It's like fighters keep their heads in the same place. Maybe have a head movement rating that actually makes the cpu move your head/body in the slightest ways to make shots glance by or flat out miss. Outside of the user control, the head is stationary as hell, and even with that control, it's a simple lean back, lean left, lean right, or duck. It's a sport where those minor movements make all the difference in the world. What good is punch accuracy when there is nothing actively thwarting it? Where is the inside fighting? Still haven't figured that one out yet. This just seems like everyone will be forced to fight in this same manner. Move in, and move out.

Most likely this is a net code test on an older version of the game. And its lower weightclasses. We can't expect a ton of knockouts in a weight class that usually goes to points.

People are really harsh on the beta and complaining about "Stiff/Unrealistic punches". It's a video game ffs. Look at FNR4, look at FNC. That shit is strange as fuck to look at sometimes, so don't come out here telling me it's better, especially when undisputed*isn't out yet.* I do feel like the damage could be upped a bit though. Knockdowns seemed pretty rare if I'm honest. Aside from that, I'm still excited for the game.

To be fair, I agree the game still needs work, but it would help us gauge how good it is if the people playing actually played it like a BOXING game instead of spamming a bunch of jabs and hooks looking for a KO like it’s “ready to rumble” or something lol

Now I’m no game developer so maybe I’m wrong here but it seems like the things players want this developer to fix or “tweak” about the beta are not going to happen. They want them to change things that would basically be rebuilding the game from scratch with better gameplay lol. They ain’t adding new counter punch mechanics and uppercut animations lol. This is more or less the game right here. When someone first showed me FNC I said “dude I’ve got to get this game. It looks so much fun.” That’s not happening here. I had a bad feeling when they kept saying they were listening to what the fans want. Dude just make a fun game. Listening to the fans is the fastest way to make an unfocused mess.

100% agree. This is the fundamental build and it looks ass. They will tweak damage, speed maybe, stamina but when it comes to jabs, inside fighting, range... I Don't expect any of that to be improved. They said there was a full feint system, but I haven't seen a single feint in any gameplay clip... like that check hook They have it in there, but It's just for show, it won't actually be used to a strategic purpose. I'm a bit gutted but if it's still a success, hopefully it brings about healthy competition for boxing games.

Agree. They already motion captured the punching, it's not going to change. They are not going to call all the boxers back to the studio, re-record all of the simulated boxing animations and then implement it into the game. The animations are going to be the exact thing that we see now. The commentary is going to be the same as well. I'm not a game developer either but I am a software developer by trade. I've played around with game projects and starter kits (PC and XBOX) to see how they work and had an Xbox developer account. Every game source code I've looked at and played around with all have something called "Assets". As we know assets are a collection of images, sounds and videos that make up the visuals of the game. Those assets are manipulated by user input then through code conditions to make the appropriate assets display to the user in the correct order to provide the visuals of the game. If they were to change the animations they would need new assets and that means redoing the motion capture, that's not going to happen, it's very expensive. I agree with what you said, the stamina might change, the damage might change, but the boxing is going to look just as it does now. What we see in this video now is what all users will see when the game is fully released is my opinion.

I don’t think fight fans venture too far out into other indie games much. Because they’d know a year ago what this was. I’d read that thread and I could tell they couldn’t see the biggest red flag right in front of them. A half cooked idea staying afloat for years via game devs pumping up that Reddit.

They should of gave you que times.. Closed Alphas usually give out que times for everyone so all who have a key should easily link up due to so few having them.

This game isn't out yet. Betas exist for a reason. At least they're asking for community feedback and as re taking their time. It looks pretty good and I'm sure they'll iron out the bugs before launch. Can't wait to play.

I was allowed access on Sunday and thankfully they increased it. I've had two full 8 round matches that were perfect. Everything else was pretty leggy... one thing I do love is how you can step round your opponent throwing them off balance. This game is already better than FNC in my humble opinion.

Oh noooo not even close. No clinch, no shove, dmg feels non existent, can't switch south paw, don't walk back to their corner it just stops, "the winner of this surely will get a world title shot!" Over and over, punch animations are horrid, heads the only thing that moves when a hit is landed, stamina is infinite even when you run out, walk and guard looks very awkward, ref only gets in the ring to count with his mouth closed and no corner men. You are trippin if you think otherwise.

This game is by far the most realistic boxing experience I've played, eons ahead of FNR 4 and FN Champion. The only game that comes close is FNR 3. Of course it's not perfect but they can't make a game for your needs, if you want a game that suits your needs then make your own boxing game. Maybe you prefer a 2K/EA boxing game with loot boxes, microtransactions and 1 sec input lag combats

They need to make moving backwards eat up a tiny amount of stamina (In real life being pressured in a fight can give you anxiety losing stamima leading to a energy dump. Also in the game those who abuse big fighters to just run on the outside will have a little something worry about with body shots and running for rounds, theyll have to box and chose when to go backwards or not). Just my opinion because i like boxing on the outside but like boxing at the fighters range not backing to the ropes throwing check hooks.

Theres a couple times where he ran out of stamina thrn just basicslly ran away and his stamina came back quick. It should come back slower if you're moving backwards, or atlesst you should move a tad bit slower if your stamina is blinking red.

Thanks bro! Depending on the videos yes. I am the sole editor so it takes some time in order to complete a video to what I feel as satisfactory. This video in particular though there is no editing. Just me playing through the game and giving my initial thoughts

i played about 20-25 matches and i thought the game was great considering its a beta. i dont think its far off from the finished product in my opinion. i think most people are jumping to one side or the other without learning the nuances of the controls, distance control and angles. i felt the punches werent landing in my first matches until i realized using angles and the direction of the left analog matters when punching. i think the game lends itself to ppl that understand boxing in real life. Far surpasses fight night in physics and mechanics alone. just my opinion. im coming for that Belt!

You have to take anything you seen from the beta with a grain of salt. it’s still in beta not even early access form so things will be tweaked and polished when it’s released to us for regular consumption. I look forward to the game and hope they at least have a career mode that is up to at least Fight night champion standards, if that’s the case and the gameplay is this good I’ll be happy.

Bruh...beta means near completion. Beta is after alpha which means it's heading into early access this way. The whole reason it's going to be early access is so they can fix things in real time.

Great video and I agree with both you and Martial Mind. This game is not going to be what we hoped. It's Steel City's first run so we can't be too hard on them, I'm sure in future versions it will improve. My view after watching all the streams is that they should just make the stamina and damage balanced, reward players that use a variety of punches at the right range and leave it at that. Then on the next iteration build on what they learned. Martial Mind brought up the point that it looks like they used the motion capture from shadow boxing and applied it to the actual fighting in the game. I agree with that and think that's why it all looks so wonky. In my view they should just release it as sim as possible but make it balanced. I think for this iteration just make a game everyone can have fun with without dealing with exploits/spam and if people actually box they will be rewarded. What we don't need is any BS "special counters" (back steps, side steps, chicken wings etc). If they can do that and keep the player base/purchases high they will get more profits to invest in the next version. I've lost any hope that this first iteration is going to be the ultimate sim boxing game. Like you said, it's just not there yet.

I know this was a stress test so it was for the purpose of testing their servers, but at the same time it's a beta. Betas are meant for feedback. These are things can be tweaked and improved. At the same time, fuck full on sim boxing. Fight night wasn't and that's the best out. Give me a good mix of sim and arcade so I can have FUN. And the sim players can still be rewarded.

Like it or not, fighting games from mortal kombat to UFC relies on the casual audience. Without them means small playerbase. Small playerbase means less money. Less money means less funding.

Other creators were switching to Spain via VPN and were connecting to more matches way often if you stayed in US the beta was pretty much unplayable

The characters are moving like a dummy. It needs better and faster animations, move the body while jab, straight and other punches, a faster footwork, etc (sorry for my bad english, i don't speak too well, but i'm trying)

I was able to play all 3 days and having multiples matches per day of beta that sad that most ppls had so much problem with the game servers.

Pretty much rockem sockem robots. Has better graphics than FNC considering that it was made over a decade ago, and an impressive roster, but that’s about it. This game was hyped up for no reason. I don’t even see them improving this tbh.

Lx Sniper to be honest with you about this game this is just a Beta version it's not the full game so I think that some of the things like closing the gap distance and getting knockdowns or knockouts isn't available in this version but I'm sure that when they release the full version of this game it will feel more complete

Beta means finishing up testing phase. They are gonna release it this way, that is how every beta has aleays been. Yall always say it's just the beta but tend to forget how much effort it takes to have a game out in time. Early access is next month so technically yes this is the release version

All Ea sports need to do is remaster FNC add a tournament league to it.. fix the server issues.. boom FNC2..

I like the foot movement but Alot work needs to be done. Punches look trash especially the hooks look horrible.. .They need to take some notes from fight night champion, my opinion
