Putting aside for a moment how amazing this game is and how much I could say about how incredibly well it was designed, I absolutely LOVE the way you voice act for the characters. Even without filters for effect, the emotion you use for them just makes the scenes SO much more engaging and painful

One thing I actually really like about the Genocide route in Yellow is that it feels a lot more motivated than in Undertale it's an understandable motive that Clover would hate and want to kill the monsters who murdered those children, misguided considering most of the monsters had nothing to do with it but understandable all the same, and at the end Clover doesn't do anything cartoonishly evil like destroy the world they just free the souls of the dead children and take them to freedom. It's a depressing route but it's not a surprising response to a nation condoning the murder of children.

@@genericname2747 honestly I actually really liked that part because if pay close attention what exactly happens is Axis admits to having personally killed one of the fallen children in his apology and Clover goes ballistic, immediately rising to just about max level of violence which represents how willing someone is to kill, having learned he's facing off against one of the murderers

I actually like the undertale genocide because it feels akin to a social experiment. In the genocide route, I believe it's made clear that these are your actions, not Frisks, so you're the one going out of your way to kill all the monsters. Killing people who have no effect on your life, but to see how the narrative changes. Similar to how some irl people murder, just to see how it might change things. Genocide is notoriously hard and time wasting because you have to grind out the death of every monster in every area, you're going out of your way to kill them. So, the ending is almost like a punishment for your sins. There is no cool ending, no big reward for your murder, there's just nothing. It's poetic in a way I feel.

@@tulioco.5711 I've just never been a big fan of meta story telling I tend to care quite a lot about characters and stories in games, ignoring that and just having an excuse plot so that the game can interrogate the morality of the player doesn't appeal to me very much. I very much prefer to explore the morality of fleshed out characters rather than focusing on meta commentary.

13:15 for those uninformed. For flowey’s fight, he uses attacks and distorted forms of bosses you killed. So if you only killed only one boss then flowey could only use one boss attacks. So … either aeroartworks made the fight a bit easier since it’s less of a bullethell from flowey and more familiar attacks. Or he made it harder and made the fight longer … idk

neutral route didnt have to go so hard. they straight up were like "here have NIGHTMARE FUEL as your final boss"

I really like how different Yellow's neutral route is compared to Undertale's, it gives you a lot more of a reason to play it rather than just watch all the end cutscenes that someone else went through. The ending was absolutely miserable, though. Body Horror Flowey will probably be stuck in my head for a very long time.

The sprite work in this game is sooooooo good. It's so fluid and bouncy!

I really liked the secret fight against Bob in the end. Truly one of the most emotional finales. but seriously OMG I love this game

I love how each route has a different ending than it should. The pacifist route has a neutral ending(leads to undertale as normal), the genocide route has a good ending(free the human souls), and the neutral route has a bad ending(get absorbed by Flowey lol)

I am in love with the neutral route's final boss. It heavily reminds me of the really old "Can you escape X?" series with the normal parts' artstyle, with the gameplay of an actual mod, "It's you, it's me." and "Your battle.". If anyone else knows any of them y'all getting bitches, you deserve it.

I know they've made a good undertale fangame when they make me root for the bosses as much as i did for undyne.

When I fought Marlet in the No Mercy Route I didn't know you could heal after getting to her harder phase. And I just fought her over and over without ever healing. Which meant the moment I learned you could heal I immediately managed to kill her, since I had gotten so far without healing.

Damn, you're actually intended to do Pacifist, Genocide, & THEN Neutral. Undertale Yellow was made with the idea that you'd already have played Undertale (obviously) so you would know the most impactful routes are true pacifist & Genocide, & just out of curiosity play the Neutral route. The way Flowey's fight in Neutral works is incredibly impactful when doing Neutral last, since Flowey only played a very minor role in the other two routes.
