You explained 1/3 of the Boeing FBW system well. The other 2/3 are first all the protection the system offers (stall, overspeed, g-load even tailstrike and approach bias). This is basically the same part as the Airbus system. The last third is PATH stabilization when speed is within a couple of k ots of trim reference and acceleration is very small. In this case the system will hold a path. It is important to note that the system is more about stabilization rather than frantic target chasing (like an AP mode for example). The beauty of the system is that the airplane on the outside flies like a normal plane, the system is almost invisible. It is just a very very easy plane to fly. Finally a typical feature of pilots moving to the 7 from say a 744 is constant over trimming! I believe that the msfs version of the PMDG 777 FBW will also highlight the marvel this system is. On a personal note Emi's contribution via testing and LONG discussions to the 777 FBW system have been absolutely invaluable in taming this mathematical beast. I never got to say thanks in public. Vangelis.

I can stall the MSFS 787. Should that be possible?

@@aspecreviews Yes you can stall it. Should however make it very difficult for you. E.g. load your control column forward.

Really informative video! I always struggled to fully understand the logic behind the fly by wire on the 777 and 787. Especially when flying the pmdg 777 in P3D I always felt that I was either overusing the trim on approach, or underusing the trim. This cleared up alot thanks!

Great video Emi! Guess I sort of knew the one second rule but never really thought about it that way. The way you explained this made it all make sense. Thanks!

Great video mate, I didn't know that the 777 actually had fbw, I though boeing only implemented that system on the 787

Hi, 737NG driver! I’m impressed by the quality of your vids! By the way, could you film a video about the continuous descent operations (CDO) in a 737? That would be great)

Nice one, Emi! Perhaps I should start using the B787 rather than wait for the PMDG B777. Many thanks.

Very instructive video, thank you for that! One suggestion for your microphone which is apparently set on auto-mute so consequently muting the aircraft sounds too when you stop talking. That sounds quite unnatural. I would recommend switching off auto-mute.

Have they already modelled the crew alert system? The one where you can configure alarm clocks on a specific time or at specific waypoints/offsets

Just a quick point, our fly-by-wire does not snap the trim speed to the current set speed as speculated at around 7:32.

@@A330Driver It just commands a constant rate trim speed change as you hold the trim switch down, we haven't added any special mechanics to it

I've been experienced some hight pitch on theb787 take off, and I can see un your video that you climb at a high angle and high feet per min (5000 and more). Is this nornal? To climb so fast? Or is a problem with plane and the simulator?

Is this how a real 787-10 flies or just in MSFS? How about trying to land it with a gusting wind of 16 , 10 degrees of crosswind?

Question do you still have to trim while the plane is in autopilot or is it only applicable when hand flying? I’m coming from Airbus so I’m not used to the whole trim thing on Boeings yet.

When the AP is on it trims automatically. That's a general rule which almost all aircraft abide. Only a few general aviation planes like the Comanche are not following this.

787 Engine inlets not modeled, the 787 iconic one of a kind auto dimming cockpit windows not modeled properly, no engine inlet modeling on the 747 either! I know to some people things like that don’t matter. But that’s what simming is about! Making sure the small details don’t go unnoticed!
